Bombs over BaghdadNewest Review: ... of the work, painting him even more as the "lapdog". The US president just was not able to convince the international community, as every time he tried to do so he said something totally idiotic, polarising the world against him ie. "With us or against us". His total lack of political thinking, poor speech ability and general not giving a rats ass about the rest of the ... more |

Gulf War 2 caused a lot of outrage when it kicked off, but why was there such opposition to it? No matter how you look at it, Gulf War 2 was going to occur sometime. It could have been sooner or later, but it was going to happen. Britain and the USA bombed Iraq freely for a decade leading up to Gulf War 2. After the first Gulf War, we imposed the "no-fly" zones, which our planes patrolled and pretty much used to bomb anything they seen as a threat. Of course there was no outcry over this. Now, our forces and our planes were there, so why did everyone automatically assume Britain was a puppet or George Bush ... Read the complete review

Painfully in Labour. No I'm not talking about childbirth, but there is a paralell here. Is Tony Blair finished? Will we see Gordon Brown as the Labour Party Leader and dare we say it, the new Prime Minister? The latest news reports say that Tony is considering pulling our troops out of Iraq in about a years time. Do you believe him? Would you vote Labour again if he did pull our troops out in a years time. Do you think he made a big mistake with the 90 day questioning of terrorist suspects or do you think that we should have the full 90 days for the safety of the British Public? I don't think ... I was in Spain at the period of the blasts in Madrid and the elections in Spain. The first time I’ve heard about the bombs they said it was made by the national terrorist group ‘ETA’ from the land ‘Vasco’ which is on the north of Spain. ‘ETA’ wants an independence from the Spanish government and that’s why provides some unpleasant explosions all over Spain. But they always politely warn about prepared blasts. This time in Madrid were no warnings but the national spanish mass media was keeping say that it was ETA. Well, it’s necessary to say that the last 10 years PP (popular party whose leader is the ... Read the complete review

IRAQ I have resisted the temptation up until now to raise the subject of Iraq but would like to air my opinions now. Since I was a teenager I have always had an interest in politics , no particular party, and regard myself as a democrat with a small 'd'. Over the years, especially the last decade or so, I have come to distrust virtually every word which comes out of a politician's mouth. Here is what happened in the UK prior to war being declared. 1. We were told that the government had a damning new dossier on Saddam and even published it on the Net. I took the time to read some of it. It was ... Read the complete review

A lot of people have opinions about what is happening and what scares me is that this war provokes reaction, provokes extreme thoughts and divides people by those thoughts. Even the man next door or your best friend could have a very different view from you which in itself is not a bad thing, but when thoughts become extreme and feelings become extreme, problems arise. So, instead of providing unity, which I believe was an initial assumption or belief of our Governments, this war has created disunity which descends from the leaders of our world to the next man standing next to us or to the child ...
