I am a Jew who does a lot of work in Pakistan, a Muslim country, and therefore have a vested interest in there being no anti-western feeling in Muslim countries (obviously I don't tell the locals I am Jewish!)

The problem I find is that I increasingly do not know exactly what the real situation is. Of course, I have to completely ignore Muslim press as much of it is so biased against the west for religous and political reasons. This is a shame as most Mulsims I meet are peaceful and friendly and very interested in the West.

However I do get quit sceptical about the continued need to bomb Iraq. Sure there are allegations re weapons of mass destruction, but then Israel, Pakistan and India all have nuclear capabilities - they don't get bombed. And sure, Iraq invaded Kuwait, but then India and Pakistan are always at war, as are Israel.

I hate to sound like Mulder & Scully, but I often wonder if there is a hidden agenda here - what is really going on and why??

Well, Ordy, I think that there are hidden agendas, and you're right to be sceptical, as I am. I cannot believe that we are now in the 21st century and the British Government are practicing 19th century "gunboat diplomacy" and expect us to support it. If there were not such a huge and supine majority in the House of Commons this would be much less likely to have happend, at the very least there would have been some solid debate rather than a fait accompli.
