Advantages: Delicious, healthy, filling brekkie!
Disadvantages: Can be expensive so more for special occasions!
This is my most favourite breakfast and you are all very lucky to have the opportunity to hear about it! There is a vegetarian (stop! Don't be put off yet) guest house in Talsarnau, Wales called Tremiefion and this is where I first had this homemade muesli. There are no exact quanitities such add more of what you like and less (or none) of what you don't.. In a large mixing bowl add: - jumbo oats (around half a cup per person) - dried apricots (chopped) - sultanas - sunflower seeds - pumpkin seeds - chopped hazelnuts Mix together and add either: - Elmlea (single) or - Soyadream (for vegans) - I actually prefer this even though I'm not vegan Add enough so that everything is coated but not so it's swimming in cream! Then add around a teaspoon on honey to sweeten, and as much fresh fruit as you want. I like to use banana, strawberries, apples and kiwi. Mix together and transfer to a serving bowl. Delicious! (And extremely good for you!) I'd welcome your feedback if anyone tries it.

- 19/06/02 Sounds yummy, I'll be giving this a try! Soyadream is delicious - I think it has a nice nutty quality. For vegans that aren't so hot on it, (or anyone else for that matter) try coconut cream for that extra luxury - extremely fattening though! |
