There may be the new Chevrolet Cruze and a VW Golf entering the fray. All in all there will be some awesome action between all cars. +++ DRIVERS +++ As always there will be a good varied class of drivers in the BTCC. There will ... more

The BTCC is a triumph of British motorsport at its finest. This is my opinion of a championship that has in the past been outstanding and at present is still jaw dropping. And with the future (2010+) without manufacturers i can only see it getting better. Yes having manufacturers such as Vauxhall and Seat boosted the image but there was always too much team play involved. I mean the privateers hardly struggle. WSR (RAC BMW) beat everyone to win the title with C.Turkington. And Silverline with J.Plato showed hes still the king of the BTCC. +++ CARS +++ The new breed of S2000 style cars are clearly the way at the moment. They look fantastic, not too big a ... ~~ Brief History ~~ The British Touring Car Championship was established in1958, as the British Saloon Car Championships. Held in the united kingdom every year, throughout the country at 8 different locations. Up until the beginning of this season the tour would take to Ireland as well, but for reasons not confirmed. Through the years, the championship has taken many guises with the types of cars raced; * At the beginning they raced production cars * 1960's and 70's saw the use of FIA Group 1 and 2 cars * 80's we saw the start of Group A models * The nineties held the use of a lower - key Group N category of production cars. ... The British Touring Car Championship used to be one of the most competitive motor racing series in the World, but in the last 10 years, a decline in the number of manufactures/teams entering this series has lead to a dramatic change in both its appeal to the spectators and in the way the series is run. Last year, the BTCC had a major change, the cars were not just normal road cars modified for the track, instead they are now more like GT cars ? would you call this a ?Touring? car? Personally, I wouldn?t, however this change has helped to improve this championship ? and has moved it into the direction where the DTM (German Touring Car Championship) is going. This ... *** WARNING *** This is a stupidly long opinion because it deals with nine hours of events and the venue they took place in. It also gives away the results of the BTCC races at Donington 2001 – should you wish to wait for the BBC to show it at Xmas or whenever it can be bothered :(. *** WARNING ENDS *** The sheer amount of loud, mean and speedy cars present on this day in the cold, cold world of Donington Park led my friend Matt to utter that sentence on average about once every ten minutes. It was his birthday though so I didn’t mention anything to him, anyway – I was having too much fun indulging myself in petrol ... Read the complete review

A little while back I used the British Touring car championship as one of my first ever opinions on Dooyoo. In that opinion I slated this years season till the cows came home. However, since then it seems ironnic that it suddenly became good and I have got into it again. This all goes down to many different things as i am going to explain. THE EXCELLENT NIGHT RACES In August I decided to trek a few miles into Norfolk and go and watch a night race at Snetterton. I regulally watch races at Snetterton but this was only the second time I have ever been to a night race. You cant beat the atmosphere. Thousands of people - women, children and the odd ...
