Advantages: Much better price, but with quality main dealer service

Disadvantages: No trade in facilty, but they help you sell it (worked for me)

Easy web site with sensible, informed staff. I ordered a Lexus IS250 through the Broadspeed site. Best site I have used, tons of information with clear and helpful information. I considered an Audi A4 (new one just out) or a BMW 320d edition (has leatyher trim included). When I called them, Broadspeed advised me there was an extra £1200 discount available if I signed up to the Lexus finance package at 9.9% interest rate. All in all, I saved almost £3600. When the dealer altered a few details, I moaned at Broadspeed and they got it all changed back to the original specification. Brilliant! The car arrived two days later than predicted. The showroom boys were superb expalining how all the extras functioned. My Lexus was handed over in spakling condition and with a full tank of fuel. I have driven the Lexus for 8000 miles, and I won't be buying a different brand for a long while.

Summary: Why use a showroom?
