Hi, this BT telephone Answer service has been around for a long time and as many BT users have already had use of it, it would be nice to know if others have had the same problems as I have had. When it originally was on offer it came out as a part of a package and during that time I had lot of family problems, some very serious, so it was vital ... Read the complete review

I have been using 1571 before it was free - we used to pay £2.99 a month i think it was don't quote me here on the price ok! After reading a few conflicting views about the BT 1571 service I decided to write what I make of it. BT’S 1571 is an answering service which will answer your calls should your phone be engaged, or you’re not there (also if you’re online!). The bonus of this service does not have to buy separate answering machines and ... Read the complete review

I applaud BT for once on bringing a system that actually seems to work. It does not bomb out your internet connection when someone tries to call you. Usefull for single line homes like a lot of us. Its free to the subsciber, which is another pluspoint. It eliminates the need for extra hardware i.e. answering machine. It will ... Read the complete review

BT’s 1571 service sounds like a great idea and in the main it is especially as it is free to the subscriber ordering the service. Why should we bother buying ourselves an answering machine when for an outlay of nothing we can get BT to take our messages for us? Great! Something for nothing at last and from BT who have debts measured in tens ... Read the complete review

OH MY GOD!! As Helen from Big Brother would say!!! I've not visited Dooyoo for a while, and upon receiving my newsletter today, thought it was about time I revisited! The main reason I've not visited Dooyoo was due to the fact that no new catagories were getting added to the Speakers Corner section so I had nothing much else to ... Read the complete review

After seeing the advert on tv for BT's new 1571 service, I decided to have a look on their website www.bt.co.uk to find out more. The words I was looking for 'it's free', were there so I thought I would give it a go. It was really easy to sign up for the free service on the site. All you need to know, apart from the ... The new BT '1571' service is a free answer phone service offered by BT. Put simply its an answerphone, but there are some rather mute points about it. The first point to mention is the price. It's being advertised as a free service, and indeed the person who activates it will pay nothing. What is rather annoying though is ... Read the complete review

I have used the 1571 service for some time, until recently I paid a quarterly service charge for the 'Call Minder' answering service, messages could be retrieved from your home phone for free or by remote, handy when you are on holiday and want to check your messages. We have had BT 1571 on our line for a couple of weeks. To set it off, you must dial an 0800 number and press a couple of buttons on your phone. Simple, eh? Then you are told your service should be ready in "5 working days" 5 days to get a simple answering service set up? I thought "Okay, this must be a pretty slow service" ... Read the complete review

There is a major problem with this service, and that is the way it interferes with internet connections. When I had the service, I was disconnected from my ISP after 8 minutes, every time. Several of my friends had this problem as well. Then, after I cancelled the service, the problem vanished, so I am sure that it is the cause. Aside from this ... Read the complete review

So BT have finally launched an answering service akin to the one seen on every mobile phone for the last zillion years. The 1571 service is simple to use, set up and free. For the recipient anyway. It’s simple really, if you are engaged, out or online (same as engaged really) then the 1571 service will kick in and ask the caller to leave a ... Read the complete review

Hands up those of you who are big fans of British Telecom! No, it's not the kind of question that's going to get a lot of enthusiasm, is it? Any new service provided by BT is going to be looked at with suspicion as most of us believe that they are only there to try to screw money out of us. Over the past few years, BT ... After being a satisfied 'BT Call Minder' customer for over a year, i was very interested when i heard about the new 'BT Answer' service. It was basically, a free version of Call Minder. I was invited by email to join 1571 FREE. As this was B.T I was immediately suspicious. So I asked around to see if anybody else had information. People were puzzled as they were paying for the service and wondered if I was mad. "FREE, they would say, from B.T. I pay a £1 a month for that service I am sure." Logging ...
