Buyers Guide: HousesNewest Review: ... is that with a repayment mortgage, you will pay off both the capital (the amount you borrowed) and the interest in every monthly payment ensuring that your mortgage is paid off at the agreed end date. If you opt for interest only, you will only pay interest each month and the amount you borrowed will still be outstanding at the end of your agreed term. With this type of mortgage, you can have ... more |

I have been helping people to buy homes all over the UK for nearly three years now. I have sat all the relevant exams and have the qualifications. I therefore thought it might be helpful for me to try and put together as definitive a guide to purchasing your home as I can, pointing out the pitfalls, and hopefully giving hints and tips to make this as easy and stress free (however there will be stress, believe me, I have done it!) as possible. In this review, I will cover how to go through this process in England, Wales and N. Ireland however I will point out the differences in the process for people looking to buy in Scotland as there are significant ... Read the complete review

"You're one thousand pounds short," said the solicitor's secretary. "No, we're not," countered Mrs Castlebinn. "I paid an extra thousand pounds into your firm's account a week ago." "Oh, yes, you're right. Sorry." That was a call the day before we moved into our new house. It came a few days after our solicitor had phoned to say we couldn't move on our chosen date because our mortgage cash would not be ready in time. Selling a house goes like this: You put your house on the market, and sit down for a cup of tea. First viewing is on Thursday, when your home is invaded by upwards of ... Read the complete review

I know from experience that buying your first home can be a very daunting prospect to say the least. My husband and I have recently taken the huge leap and purchased our first house. A mortgage is usually the largest financial commitment that people make during a lifetime, and it is important that anyone contemplating taking such a big step, is able to make an informed choice. * I would advise anybody to see a Financial Advisor before you start looking for a property. They will give you the basic facts that you need to know and can tell you how much you will be allowed as a mortgage (this is normally 2.5 times you and your partners joint wages, although ... When you are looking to buy a house decide where you want to live and your budget, once you have that sorted then you should start looking. Do not let the Estate Agents pressure you, as this is what they did with me and gog am I paying for it. I viewed my house and put an offer in the same day, as the Estate Agent said that there was someone else interested, and basically if I did not put my bid in first I would lose the house, it was a repossesion, Anyway from the day I put my offer in to the day I completed took 3 weeks, very quick, they pressured me so much into rushing, I could not think straight. I did not have a full survey, which I would ... Read the complete review
