Advantages: Look around
Disadvantages: Getting ripped off
When you are looking to buy a house decide where you want to live and your budget, once you have that sorted then you should start looking. Do not let the Estate Agents pressure you, as this is what they did with me and gog am I paying for it. I viewed my house and put an offer in the same day, as the Estate Agent said that there was someone else interested, and basically if I did not put my bid in first I would lose the house, it was a repossesion, Anyway from the day I put my offer in to the day I completed took 3 weeks, very quick, they pressured me so much into rushing, I could not think straight. I did not have a full survey, which I would never recommend you go without as it is so important, I have now had to shell out £2500 for a new boiler, my back door is rotten and everything is leaking. My house is no longer the bargain I thought it was What I am trying to say is do not rush into anything visit the house at least three times and at different times of the day, and make sure you get a full survey, the house could look okay but you never know, people are very good at hiding things when they are desperate.

- 26/10/01 A new boiler shouldn't cost you £2500. I'd get some more quotes. Sue :) |

- 26/10/01 Sorry for the SU but you didn't really cover the topic in any great detail. Sorry for your misfortune though. |
