Buyers Guide: MP3 Players

Newest Review: ... buying one always go for the one with the highest memory, a 245MB will only hold about 50-80 MP3s were as 4GB will hold 5000 MP3s so bigger is better. I find that Creative are really good MP3 players with the IPod at second place, with Creative the new line of MP3s have album art support and can connect to FM frequency for radio listening. Ipod are great if you a serious music fan because Ipods with screens order the music by Artist/ Song /Album or whatever you want it to be. Check if the MP3 player has an equalizer as having this can make your music sound so much better then just having all your music Full Sound. Music is for ... more

I have owned an mp3 player for over a year now and been very happy with it, but I can see they would not be for everyone. Here are some points and tips you should consider before buying: Mp3 versus minidisk Cons- Easier to take more music with you with a MiniDisk player MiniDisk a better-known technology More expensive than MiniDisk Pros- Generally lighter and smaller than MiniDisk Players Less vulnerable to breaking when dropped Envious friends I decided I did not want the hassle of a MiniDisk player- I can already burn my own CD’s so there seemed little point in getting one. Buying the mp3 player 3 ...  Read the complete review

Buyers Guide: MP3 Players: Don't buy an MP3 player!!!! (442 words)

First, think about why you're buying an MP3 player...most people buy one because they want to download music off the internet and don't have a CD writer, and so get an MP3 player so they can listen to the music away from their computer. But, most people forget that you can just record the MP3s on a MiniDisk player. MiniDisk players are much better than MP3 players - with most MP3 players, the solid state memory costs a fortune and can only hold like an hour of so called 'cd' quality music before you have to go back to your computer and put on more music. Imagine only being able to take one CD with you somewhere - if you go on holiday thenn you'd have ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review MP3s Walkman steels your freedom! Consider this... (417 words)

It is without question that MP3 is best thing to happen to the music industry in hundreds of years. So what could be better than MP3s meeting the Walkman to give portable music at next to no cost? Not much, until you buy one and realise that everything a walkman gives you (freedom) works against an MP3's origin (the PC). I am referring to the MP3 players that read flash memory, or other kinds of proprietry memory (eg. Sony's SmartMedia) or worst of all have no interchangable media. Imagine this scenario. 6 hour train journey, 64MB MP3 player. With MP3s at 112kbps, that would give you approximately an hour's listening time at below ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Buyers Guide: MP3 Players: All the research on MP3s needed. (449 words)

For this christmas, I did an extreme amount of research on personal audio players - especially looking at mp3s and minidisc. This is the first choice you need to make when purchasing a p.a.p, whats do you need it for? If, like me, you wish for unstoppable sound, never jogging, never stopping then mp3s have to be the option of choice. If however you are not particularly worried about skipping, and want to trade discs with friends, but want something more compact than cds then MiniDisc is for you. I opted early on in my research for the Mp3 player as I would be using it while jogging ect, and did not want it to skip. Mp3 players at the moment ...  Read the complete review
