Cabbage Soup Diet

Newest Review: ... in the littlest room. An inevitable result of gallons of soup. I firmly believe that half the weight loss resulted from those hours in the loo! No one can deny that it is a healthy diet consisting of gallons of a soup based on cabbage, onions and tomatoes. You could then add unlimited quantities of any vegetables you wanted except Potatoes, peas and sweetcorn. You could eat this at will day or night, so you were never hungry. Each day you could add specific items to the mix. On one day you could eat a jacket potato - the sheer luxury of it. On another day you could eat 12 ounces of chicken, fish or beef. This was a massive amount, I could... more

Ah! I have fond memories of the cabbage soup diet. All those pans full of green soup brimming like a witches cauldron. The noxious odours travelling throught the atmosphere both from the soup and the recipients. The hours spent contemplating ones Navel whilst sitting in the littlest room. An inevitable result of gallons of soup. I firmly believe that half the weight loss resulted from those hours in the loo! No one can deny that it is a healthy diet consisting of gallons of a soup based on cabbage, onions and tomatoes. From what I can gather there are variations of the soup and the diet. This one was received as part of an e-book from EBay with other weightwatchers stuff. January 2008 - I was a Size 20, I was 17 stone (5'9"). I was miserable. I had always been overweight and promised myself I would sort my life out. I didn't and just got bigger. I couldn't seem to find a diet that I enjoyed and that was long lasting. I was a diet failure. But I ws always loved by my friends and boyfriend, so it didn't seem to matter that much. I eat well, veg, fruit, I eat anything. Not fussy at all - and that is where the problem lies. I bought for the princely sum of 99p an ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cabbage Soup Diet: Do you want an air freshener with that madam? (426 words)

I am sitting in my little dining-room with all the windows open. It isn't particularly hot in here but I am forced to let some fresh air circulate through the place. No one wants to sit here with me. Why? The Cabbage Soup Diet. If you want have friends, relations, or colleagues near to you, then don't even go there! This diet causes severe flatulence. No other description is needed here...imagine. This diet is based on low calorie intake and some users have claimed huge weight losses of 12-18 pounds in a week. I'm not convinced that this is possible and I am also concerned about the safety of such rapid weight loss. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Lose pound if you can bare the soup (376 words)

I have to confess that I have tried this diet two times, even though deep inside myself I know that this is not a long term answer, I am not overweight, but often feel the need to lose a few pounds especially when it’s summer and you can no longer hide behind the big jumpers. I first came across this diet when a friend of mine was talking about it, I would have not believed that I myself would be in, I don’t particularly enjoy going on it but feel that it does work for a short duration. The diet consists of making a soup whereby the main ingredients is cabbage, you can add extras like celery and stock, the aim is to eat as much as you can. The more ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cabbage Soup Diet: And I thought leeks were bad (280 words)

Having brought to light my morbid fear of leeks last night on the Doos, I was just flicking through the latest ops this evening when I came across one written on, of all things, a cabbage soup diet - how could I resist..... Now, as diets go, the cabbage soup thingy must be one of the most effective - after all, if all you have to eat is cabbage soup, well, you're going to eat nothing aren't you, because if there is one thing in all the world which I dislike more than leeks, it's ye humble cabbage, verily the most stinktastic food in the world. To know, know, know it, is to hate, despise, detest it, and I do, and I do, and I do. ...  Read the complete review
