Advantages: Very effective and hard to forget

Disadvantages: Maybe played on TV a bit too much.

In my many years of television-watching, I have never seen a T.V ad as good as this. I would love to have seen the moment the person on Cadbury's marketing team thought of this idea, relaxing back in their chocolate armchair in Cadbury's headquarters just thinking until "Eureka"! A gorilla playing drums to Phil Collins, its the perfect advert for a chocolate bar!

The ad starts off with the intro of Phil Collin's "In the Air Tonight" and a close-up of the gorillas eyes. Then he plays the drums in sync with Phil Collin's famous drum fill and starts playing. The only real mention of Cadburys is the purple background and a picture of their chocalate Dairy Milk bar. I don't know what it is but the image of a huge silverback gorilla with a stern "don't mess with me look" on his face playing the drums in a recording studio is just so effectiive and hard to forget. It is sort of funny and emotional at the same time.

The advert actually became really popular as millions of people looked up the video on youtube ( I was one of them) and I'd say Phil Collin was delighted as "In the Air Tonight" became hugely popular among people my age who had never heard any of his stuff.

Summary: Best ad I have evers een.
