Advantages: Strong defender

Disadvantages: don't know

Sol Campbell has basically admitted to himself just how good he is by opting for Arsenal. The reason he moved from left-back to central defender for Spurs was because he does not possess enough ability on the ball.
If it wasn't for his size, power and pace then he would not be half decent but as a pure footballer he sadly lacks in the skill department.
Playing at the back in Barcelona, Inter or wherever in Europe he would have been expected to bring the ball forward out of defence and his ability would have been cruelly exposed.
So what's he done? He's bottled the big 'World class' move abroad and settled into the comfort zone with the Gunners in a league where he knows he won't be found out.
He's made for life with the money he's going to make but he's totally bottled the opportunity to prove to people just how good they think he is, but HE knows deep down and has copped out.
Proving to me what was already obvious, Sol old son you aint a world class footballer, maybe a world class destroyer, because it's easier to destroy than create. So you can continue destroying those Premiership strikers knowing that your creative weaknesses will barely be needed.

I can't for the life of me understand why he's opted for Arsenal when apparently Barcelona or Inter Milan were an option. At either Barca or Inter he'd almost certainly be getting paid more, he'd be playing in front of more passionate fans and he wouldn't have to run the gauntlet of irate Spurs fans. It makes no sense to me.

Hmmm, I'm not so sure - remember Euro 2000 with those excellent runs all the way up the pitch, ending in 2 superb crosses into the box? Spurs never gave him a chance to come forward - hardly his fault. As for bottling by moving, I think its the bravest move of his life. As a Spurs supporter I am dissappointed he moved to our arxch rivals, but many want him dead. I just hope it doesnt backfire on him - cant really see him coming back to spurs in a few years now. I have to say thats rubbish, sols one of the best defenders in england at the time. Im a life long fan and to see our captain move to our rivals is absoluetly discraceful, the man will not be able to lead a normal life. He will will recieve death threats from the fans, what hes done is just way out of line.
