Just a few from me for this category: 1) Take spare tent pegs It's so easy to lose or bend tent pegs, so make sure you have a few spares. If you set up and realise you don't have enough it's a real pain. 2) Buy a good tent You really do get what you pay for with tents, so pay as much as you can and it will pay off in the long-run. Don't be tempted by bargain tents! 3) Have a knife with you in your tent In case of fire, have a knife so you can cut your way out nice and quick. 4) Have a rape alarm with you I've heard of some really horrible things happening to campers. ----Camping---- I was brought up on camping holidays as a young lad, and continued to go camping from the age of 4 yrs old to about 15 yrs old, never missing a year, we had a whole country to explore. I had never been abroad till I was 17. Nothing on earth feels as good as camping, especially if you have the right weather, a few things anyone should take on a camping trip. ----Take---- 1. Fishing Rod - Our camping holidays were based round going fishing, Loch Voil was a favourite haunt of ours and the fishing was always on the agenda, no camping trip is complete till you've done some fishing. 2. Toilet Roll - As ... Read the complete review

Camping equipment. Hmm? Well that’s rather depends on where you are going to be camping doesn’t it? I mean if you were going one of these Euro type camps where 5-star tents are erected and ready waiting for you then you wouldn’t need to take a whole lot of other stuff would you? But then if you are like us and like to ‘rough’ it, then you are going to need an awful lot more equipment! I don’t profess to be an expert on exactly the right thing to take camping with you, heavens I have only really had 3 holidays away in my adult life. And none of them were under canvas! What I do propose to do, ... Read the complete review

If you're planning any of your late spring and early summer getaways to the wildreness, the chances are excellent that you're probably planning on spending an overnight or two out in the woods. Whether your fishing, camping, photographing or just enjoying the great outdoors-- you know that by the end of the day chances are excellent that you're dog-tired! Head back into your camp and you're guaranteed to be faced with having to set up the stove, start the fire, light the BB-Q or some other way of preparing a hot meal for dinner. In addition, there's the "cuisine factor" in preparing all those freeze dried foods that you ... Read the complete review

The best holidays I have ever had have been in a tent, camping gives you an incredible sense of freedom, your not committed to one area you can simply pack up, and move on. In my opinion real camping is not staying on the same site for a week. This is an example of real camping, I planned a week trip to North Wales, and I set off from home and pitched up in Rhyl. The next morning the tent was packed up, and I was driving towards Anglesey during the day I visited Llandudno, and that night I pitched my tent on a campsite, I did this all throughout the week. I got to see more of North Wales than you can imagine, from busy little seaside resorts to quite ... Read the complete review
