Many years ago I got a small candle making kit for a present. I included a simple mould and enough wax to make 3 spheres. Since then I have buoght many additions to the kit (including an awful lot of wax chips!) and have really enjoyed making candles. If you are looking for a hobby which is creative, but doesn't require too much skill (for those with big fingers and thumbs!) then this could be the hobby for you.
