Advantages: Might scare people in not murdering or raping someone
Disadvantages: Might not work
Capital Punishment should come back-but only for mass murderers.
If you think its inhuman that to kill someone by law-imagene the victam is a relative or a good friend, wouldnt you want revenge on the offender.
Although the most famous murderers are americans that have capital punishment-so punishment doesnt seem to bother them.
many people think capital punishment is disgusting. That we should not kill someone because they too have killed.
Besides, if we murder someone because they to have murdered, than that makes us as bad as the murders. Yes, people who kill other people are insane, but they are still people and should be treated as such, not just a dumb animal who should be slaughtered.
However it would make prisons less crowded and make tax costs less, I can understand why it would be wrong-eg the offenders mind and fear going to the electric chair/ firing sqaud ECT.
In all bring it back for those rare occasions of mass murderers.

- 29/10/08 Mass murderers are the least likely to be afraid of capital punishment. Think about it - if you've killed several people and know you will be executed, so killing more people cannot make things worse for you and therefore you are not afraid to kill more people to try and escape/cover your tracks.
I personally think that life imprisonment is worse - capital punishment ends your life, but imprisonment makes you live it out with all the guilt of what you did. |
