Inhumane? More Inescapable! (Capital punishment)
Member Name: Stroyd
Advantages: Cannot reoffend, Cheaper than keeping them in prison Disadvantages: An easy death is too good for some people
This question is closely linked with 'Is prison a deterrent?' The answer is no. How can we expect to rid society of murderers and rapists when we give them a few years in a relaxed prison and then release them. 'Prison is no holiday camp!' you may cry, but trust me, I know people who have been inside and it is no deterrent whatsoever. how often do we hear of a murderer who is released only to reoffend. 'What about the innocent people who may lose their lives?' This is not the 1930s. In the days of forensic evidence it can be proven without shadow of a doubt that a person committed a crime. An example of my complaint against the current justice system is the case of Janie Bulger's killers. These boys should have been kept in prison until 18 and then tortured, murdered, and left to rot by a railtrack. All you do-gooders are probably screaming at your computer screens right now, 'What about human rights?' My answer is clear, what about the rights of that little boy. His life was taken before he could take advantage of many of his rights. Not only should his killers be destroyed buit their bodies should be burned and dumped at sea away from humanity. So should capital punishment be reintroduced? YES!!!!!!! Summary: |
