Advantages: easy way to make some money from your old junk

Disadvantages: you will be knackered by the end of the day

Recently, my boyfriend and I went carbooting to sell some stuff that had been kicking around in his parent's garage - mostly just old books, videos some candles and candle-holders, an old fax machine, an office chair, a broken ukelele and for some reason, a post-horn. We sold pretty much everything for one or two pounds each (nothing went for over £6 - the fax machine) and although we had to pay to get in to each of the car-boot sales, we still made a profit of about £30. I would recommnd taking food with you, as the food on offer at larger car boot sales can be very overpriced - and would also recommend going to smaller carboot sales if you can - the charge to get in is usually lower, and you get fewer "vultures" who try to buy your stuff as soon as you open your boot, and then they sell it at their own stalls for more when the general public come in. Its a good way to get some money for stuff that you don't want any more, and you can have a pretty fun day whilst doing it - and pick up some bargains of your own if you have a chance to look at some other people's stalls.

Summary: sell your rubbish
