Cardiff City F.C.Newest Review: ... after Kanu`s winner. Cardiff City have done nothing since the late 1920s and this was their first cup final since their win in 1928. This was the first meeting of Cardiff and Portsmouth in the Cups 127 year history. As neither Pompey nor Cardiff had been to Wembley for a while the fans clearly didn't know the words to 'Abide with me..., the stadium strangely silent when it's normally ... more |

You should remember the excellent Not the nine o’clock News with Rowan Atkinson and the boys with that brilliant quip. Well that Nationalism is alive and well if you ever go to the Valleys to watch football. I recall a visit to Ninian Park following Northampton about ten years ago and I can safely say things have not improved!. Anne Robinson certainly spoke for me when she sneered her infamous comments on the notion of tem being a hospitable race. They eat up mainland tax dollars and yet whine and whinge about devolution which only 24 percent bothered to vote. Most of them could sign for the twice-weekly dole without a problem after Mrs ... What the Cup is all about, but why did it have to happen to Leeds....? Had the end written all over it from the first minute, didn't it? A giant killing waiting to happen - Sam Hammam and his new Crazy Gang up to give the Big Boys a good kicking... Even as an ardent white I can't say the win wasn't deserved, but the loss of Rio Ferdinand and the sending off of Alan Smith (more later) certainly gave the Welsh team the advantage. Even so, once Mark Viduka powered home the first goal (what a lovely strike!) I had hoped we would see off gallant upstarts but it wasn't too be. They outran and outfought Leeds right from the off and ... Read the complete review

After the ups and downs of the last few seasons, the roolercoaster ride that is Cardiff City seems to be turning into a mountain climb. With Sam Hammam's mega-bucks providing the cash injection every lower league club so desperately needs, Cardiff have turned the corner. In Alan Cork we have a tactically sound manager whose experiences going up through the divisions with Wimbledon's crazy gang will prove invaluable. The squad is young and full of Welsh players which is a bonus for the National team. GOALKEEPER In Neil Alexander we have a young star, tipped to eventually replace Neil Sullivan in the Scotland goal. His signing came as ... Read the complete review

Stage one of Uncle Sam's plan has been completed now the world! If the promised £2 million is wisely spent on players this summer there's no reason why come next May Cardiff City will be playing at the Millenium Stadium in the final of the Div. 2 play-offs. If we can get plans for the new ground sorted out with the local council we are really going to take off. There is hardly a football team in the country who has a new ground that is struggling at the moment. If we start off well next season we'll be getting gates of between 10 and 15,000. SAM HAMMAM IS GOD!!!!! ... Read the complete review
