CCTV: Are we being watched too much in the UK?Newest Review: ... around me. This makes me feel safer as I know that if their were ever to be a problem to occur a film would be there to back me up. I also understand the reasons for cctv on roads. Such as speed cameras. Yes they are annoying and I for one do not like them however, they are put into place for a reason - to save lives. Are we being watched too much in the UK? Hmm .. well I personally don't think we are.. especially if I am for some reason, having to walk alone in the dark. I have some comfort in knowing that their are cctv camera's filming my every move and also people around me. This makes me feel safer as I know that if their were ever to be a problem to occur a film would be there to back me up. I also understand the reasons for cctv on roads. Such as speed cameras. There is one thing that I would say when it comes to CCTV in the UK there seems to be Camera's everywhere and they do seem to help with catching some criminals in the act, but not every time and this is where it comes down to... do we really want our movements being record if we are sat on the bus reading a mag or walking along with a loved one and given each other a peek on the cheek! With the way the laws work in the UK it would not surprise me if they put in place a act where they are aloud to use CCTV footage to charge people for show personal affection in public! And what about the people behind the camera's we the British public are meant to ... Read the complete review

Im not an expert on the subject but am rather giving a general overview of my oppinion which people can aggree with or disgard but cctv does play an important role in our society so i thought i would join in the discussion. Firstly why was it created and put into place- to keep an eye on society? to deter criminals? to catch criminals? to reduce the crime rates? to make people feel safer? well, it certainly keeps an eye on society. I walk around my town alot and ... Read the complete review

The only time I have really wished that there was not quite so much CCTV around was when I got drunk and rather amourous with my boyfriend one night in a shop doorway on the high street, that was probably not one of my better decisions even though it was fuelled by alcohol and to this day I stll worry whether I will appear on one of those hidden camera programmes. Personally though I like the fact that there are more cameras watching over us as (with the one exception) I'm a law abiding person who has nothing to fear from the cameras and anything that either helps deter or detect crime particularly when I'm out for the night in town is a good ... CCTV – Close Circuit T*** Voyeurism ---------------------------------------------- I am 6ft 3 inchs tall, clean shaven, semi attractive (kind of), usually dressed smartly, with Italian style shoes, carrying a flat black 'mans bag' on my shoulder. I'm walking with purpose doing my own business in my local town. I've been on hundreds of CCTV's throughout the UK, just like everyone else. Do I feel safe? No, Do I feel less liberated? Yes, because I'm on CCTV. I've no wish to be on TV, I don't want my movements to be known visually by any sweat-room surveillance team. Who are they? They must feel empowered by seeing what the rest of us are far too busy ... Read the complete review
