What are the problems with Urban Youth Culture?Newest Review: ... chav bashing that occurs so much these days. I understand and almost relate to a lot of these people (girls especially) have too much peer pressure to be like their friends even if they don't feel as though they fit in. However I don't think standing around the streets, loitering outside corner shops and off-licences is really doing their reputation much good. Walking down the street now has ... more |

Does chav have a dictionary definition? In Websters dictionary it does... It quite literally means the lower class; uneducated and ignorant people Now don't get me wrong I am more than partial to categorising certain people at times, for the way they dress or for other circumstances, as I'm sure we all are. Sometimes however we classify people to within an inch of sanity, sure these people dress the same (the girls that is more than the guys), talk the same in some sort of language only the trained ear can understand, wear badly fitted trousers and baseballs caps, and insist on having the lowest car that for the life of it cannot get over a speed bump, with ... I'm not sure. Certainly we can't generalise every chav in the UK. Unfortunately, for this review, I'll have to do that - I'll have to stereotype. What can I say, I'm not defending the chav community. I dislike them as much as, how most people do. I'm guessing even chavs don't like other chavs. So why are there so many? It is plain to see, in my 11 years stay in this wonderful country, that it is becoming less wonderful as of these 'infests' I so often refer to. Chavs are like a plague, no matter where you go, there's always a bunch of them. They infect the people around them, converting them, changing them, growing in numbers, and ultimately ... The term Chav is used a generic term to label young people (mostly young anyway, but with exceptions) who hang around the streets trying to look intimidating. These 'uniform' is track suit bottoms tucked in socks and back to front baseball caps with fake designer labels. Burberry fakes are a favourite with this group. The company that produces Burberry had to redesign some products to combat the damage being done to their label by these Chars. Chav, or Charva has come to be a slang term in UK used to describe a person who wears fake designer clothes, uses foul language and has no manners. It is a stereotypical term and is used in much the same way ... Read the complete review

Please note that before I get right into the thick of things in explaining what a chav is and what a chav does, that I do not intend to offend anyone by this review. This review is based upon my own personal knowledge and experiences with chavs. Most of it which is not very good but I will try to remain neutral as much as possible. There are many different types of chavs which are now appearing all over the country. More commonly in the North East of England the word charver is used more often but both mean the same thing. There are several different types of chav out there at the moment and they usually depend on their lifestyle and background. ... Read the complete review

Well what can I say about chavs or charvers other than they are so obnoxious and annoying. Where can you find a chav Chavs are usually found hanging around street corners and corner shops. They stand in crowds of around 10-20, a mixture of girls and boys and they are usually aged between 12 and 16. What are their intentions? Chavs usually head to the shops around 4.30 after school. They wait there for anything up to 3 hours for an adult to go in to the shop and buy them a cheap bottle of wine. This is usually Bellabrusco and costs about £1.09 per bottle. They use their dinner money to buy it. Depending on how many chavs ... Read the complete review
