The team are currently captained by England captain John Terry. In their early years, the club had relatively little success. I have been a fan of Chelsea FC since 1994 which is over 15 years now. My best friend then at the time when I was at school was a Chelsea fan and was also a season ticket holder with his dad and it was really how I got into Chelsea and following football properly. Chelsea were in the final of the FA Cup at the end of the 93/94 season and were playing Manchester United and I decided I was going to support them. They lost 4-0 in the end but in the first half, Gavin Peacock hit the crossbar and if that shot had gone in it could have maybe been a different story. Chelsea f.c was founded in 1905 and has been a fairly successful club without ever really taking the world by storm. I have been a fan through thick and thin and have watched some excellent players and managers along with some fairly awful signings and managers. Some of the greats to play for this giant London club down the years have been, Celestine Babayaro, Didier Deschamps, Roberto Di Matteo, Jimmy Greaves, Frank Lebouf, George Weah, and the absolutely awesome Gianfranco Zola. The list goes on and on and of course dates back a lot further than I have gone but those are just a few of the players that for me have been outstanding for Chelsea football ... It has gone unnoticed by most but after Chelsea put Huddersfield away in the Cup last weekend they are still on for the unique quadruple, the bookmakers offering 124-1 as the Blues prepare to take on Tottenham in the Carling Cup this weekend for leg one. After Liverpool's embarrassing home defeat to Barnsley, Benitez again protecting his best players for Europe by not starting them, this time, alas, like waving a white flag at the Americans to sack him, those odds will be falling fast, especially after United thumped a disinterested Arsenal. The FA Cup is there for the taking, now, as more and more premier league threats fall by the wayside, round five having the lowest ... Read the complete review
