Chelsea F.C. Discussion

Newest Review: ... of the new East Stand and along came Ken Bates. We had a bad reputation off the pitch too with our fans being notorious. Bates argued that the fences around stadia should be electrified and the media conducted a campaign against him. At my school at least, Chelsea and their supporters were a laughing stock. When football was on television it was always the same teams with the same supporters at school. The odd occasion that Chelsea was actually awaded a live match (usually a cup game) they were jinxed and lost every match I can remember. It was painful to watch and to be mercilessly ribbed by the other kids! Instead I used to listen on... more

I have been a Chelsea supporter since I was about 8 years old - and for all the right reasons. My father was a (fair weather) fan and I was lucky enough to be a 15 minute walk from the stadium. For as long as I can remember, even before I understood why, I used to watch the football results hoping aginst hope that Chelsea would win their match. For so many years supporting Chelsea was a real labour of love, whilst growing up at school (in Surrey) I was surrounded by Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, Man United and Everton fans. In a (mixed boarding) school of over 500 there were only 3 others that I knew of that supported Chelsea. In those days (mid - late 80's) ...  Read the complete review

I thought I would write a little review on my beloved Chelsea FC, and in particular this season. Chelsea are located in West London, and play in a stadium called Stamford Bridge. The capacity of the stadium is approximately 42,500. Chelsea have always played at Stamford Bridge which was once a 100,000 capacity stadium. They are owned by Russian billionnaire Roman Abramovich who bought the club from former Chelsea chairman Ken Bates. Chelsea's nearest rivals are Fulham, QPR, West Ham, Arsenal and Tottenham. Although not considered to be a successful club in the past, Chelsea FC are now one of the biggest clubs in the World, and have had ...  Read the complete review

I have been a fan of Chelsea FC since 1994 which is over 15 years now. My best friend then at the time when I was at school was a Chelsea fan and was also a season ticket holder with his dad and it was really how I got into Chelsea and following football properly. Chelsea were in the final of the FA Cup at the end of the 93/94 season and were playing Manchester United and I decided I was going to support them. They lost 4-0 in the end but in the first half, Gavin Peacock hit the crossbar and if that shot had gone in it could have maybe been a different story. Anyway I continued to follow the club from this day forward. I will detail a bit of information about ...  Read the complete review

Instead of just doing a generic review on Chelsea FC, that most people have done here, what I will do is a player by player analysis on the current first team and then make updates ever summer. Cech: One of the greatest goalkeepers in the world. Up there with Casillas and Mr Consistent. Always produces top drawer performances and very very occasionaly makes errors, as all goalkeepers do Ashley Cole: Come under a lot of scrutiny over his move due to 5k a week but still technically a good defender. This season he has been giving a license to go forward under Scolari and has looked a different player Terry: Not quite the same defender as a ...  Read the complete review
