Chester City F.C.Newest Review: ... , which is at the end of a long road on an industrial estate . It is definitely the poorest football league ground I have visited in terms of size , atmosphere and facilities . But to be fair I have not visited Accrington Stanley , Aldershot Town or Morecambe United . The football clubs chairman is not liked my many of the fans , and apparently the club has a boycott in progress , that are ... more |

We are approaching the end of a very important season for Chester City Football Club , at the time of speaking they are in the league 2 relagation zone , staring at the threat of dropping out of the football league . They play at The Deva Stadium on Bumpers Lane , which is at the end of a long road on an industrial estate . It is definitely the poorest football league ground I have visited in terms of size , atmosphere and facilities . But to be fair I have not visited Accrington Stanley , Aldershot Town or Morecambe United . The football clubs chairman is not liked my many of the fans , and apparently the club has a boycott in progress , that are staying away ... Read the complete review

Chester, or Chester City as they are now known, were founded in 1885 due to the amalgamation of Chester Rovers and Kings School Old Boys, the secondary school I attended, coincidentally. 1902 saw Chester turn professional. During the early years, Chester played their home games at Faulkner Street in Hoole. Hard to imagine a football ground there now, it is a mini shopping village, entwined in a grid of convenience stores, pubs and takeaways. Throughout my time as a Chester city supporter i have seen very little to impress me. The only good thing has been promotion about 7 tears ago. This was closly followed by relegation. This constant habit of failure has become very familiar to me in the time that i have supported chester in. Noe though has become the worst thing i have ever been through as a chester supporter. This has been even worse that relegation from the third division. Yes it is the everlasting reign of Terry Smith. The man who is driving Chester city out of existance. Even thought he fans are now boycotting (incorrect spelling) the games he refuses to sell the club. There are currently no stewards ... Read the complete review

Chester city , in my opinion , will be back in the league next season , along with Yeovil Town . The opinion follows a desision by the FA to allow 2 clubs into the league next season , rather than one . I , however do not agree with this because there should be a difference with league or non-league , so therefore teams should only be allowed to go up if they are top . I also think that the " votes " system should be reinstated , where the board can choose one of the top five to go up , which would improve ground standards , and financial security for the league ( no more Aldershot , that means ) , and Smith should go . He has never played footbal before , and ... Read the complete review
