Disadvantages: Surly staff
Ah the shoes. We love the shoes. Each and every one of them.
Any shoe fanatic, like myself, will know that a pair of red soled Louboutins are the Holy Grail of shoe. And for people who work hard for their money, spending an average of £450 on a pair of shoes is a big deal.
I was a very lucky girls and this Christmas I was given a voucher to spend here. So with voucher tightly gripped in my sweaty little hand I skipped off to Mount Street to look at the beautiful shoes.
The shop itself is tucked about half way down the street, amongst the posh shops and hotels. And has a beautiful window display of the glorious shoes. There is a security man in a suit at the door, who will open it to let you inside, and obviously guarding it to make sure you don't try and run off with the beauties.
The layout of the store is lovely. The shoes are all presented in sections on shelves. They tend to be laid out with similar styles and groups, e.g. all the bridal shoes are together, the classics together, the sandals together. But they are not crowded in, so you can see everything in it's glory. The sizes on diplay tend to vary and sometimes will be a UK size 3 and other times a UK size 7. They don't seem to have any system to the display in that regard.
The staff are all pretty young girls, daintily walking around in the Louboutin shoes - clearly the best way to sell the shoes, actually seeing them on real people.
Unfortunately, all the beauty of the staff does not make them particularly nice people. I have been into the shop 3 times now and on each occasion found the staff to be.... well... rude actually. It seems none of them want to be there working with these marvellous creations. Either that, or they only want to deal with celebrity customers. However, I am of the belief that it shouldn't matter whose money it is, money is money, and if I come into the shop wanting to buy a pair of shoes, I'd rather not be snarled at and made to feel like my money isn't good enough.
If there is a shoe that you want but they don't have it in your size then they can check the stock in other stores and arrange to have it sent over. This is what I did. Nearly 3 months ago. And I'm still waiting for the shoes to arrive. Something tells me that because my surname isn't Beckham or Rooney, I might be waiting a long time.
I was also told that I couldn't request for the shoes to be made specially and sent over by one member of staff. However, when I called a few weeks later to chase my order, I was asked whether it was a special order being made for me.....
Overall the shop is full of the most beautiful shoes, but if you are just a normal person, then don't expect good customer service.
Summary: Great shoe collections, but unhappy staff
