Advantages: magical loveliness

Disadvantages: times they are a changin'

Gosh I love christmas tv.

I was feeling a little sad thinking about it just yesterday. I was thinking about how reassuringly predictable it is, how you can still watch the same films I loved when I was 8, that felt so exciting and magical because it meant it was CHRISTMAS, the most wonderful time of the year.

But yesterday it occured to me that christmas tv is, in fact, changing. It needs to of course, to allow todays children to feel the same things I did. perhaps they need the excitement of seeing something from the cinema on tv. But I want to watch Home Alone, not Toy Story.

It's not like I'm an old fashioned crone who longs for It's A Wonderful Life 5 times a day (though that might be nice). I want Home Alone, The Grinch and Santa Clause the movie. I don't want christmas to become computer animated, and I don't want to have to admit that Christmas is for children and it's time for me to grow up!

Summary: I love christmas specials and christmas movies. I just want to recapture the magic!
