Advantages: Get more reads, get to know other users better, get notified by email of new reviews...
Disadvantages: Make sure you only add members who you deem to be writing 'good' opinions...
In order to help the most people, earn the most money- you have to make sure people read your opinions. As mentioned in my other reviews of Dooyoo, the best way of getting others to read your reviews is by reading and rating other people's reviews (something which, I could do with doing a little more of...). However, as you read people's opinions, and start to get to know users, or at least, their style of writing- it can often be mutually benificial to add each other to your circle of friends. This means that, they will know you trust them- and probably read your opinions as a result. They will also have one click access to your reviews from their homepage. Obviously, this is likely to get you more 'reads'. However, they are more likely to add you in to their circle of friends as well, and therefore, other members may access your reviews through their page. For example, if a total stranger gave you advice, you might ignore it- but if that stranger was a friend of your best mate- you might listen to them. Also, it gives you fast access to trusted reviews. -It's easy to add a member to your circle of friends, just click their user name, to visit their profile- and click the option 'add to circle of friends'. To remove someone, do the same- the option will say 'remove from circle of friends' though. Finally, don't add everyone to your circle of friends, as remember- if you associate yourself with members writing poor opinions (like me), this could reflect on you...

- 26/08/01 A rather cynical view. Dooyoo's not just all about getting reads, you should enjoy it as a community and consumer research tool yourself (ie. read more!) Ben |
