I begain shooting some years ago after my brother convienced me to try, I felt it was more of a mans sport but i tried it. I tried it at a shooting club with a helpful supervised shooter and it was brilliant. The guns are heavy but a 20 gauge calibre is more suited and light weight for a women. It is an interesting and rewarding with a need for accuracy and thinking ahead of the shot. I think more woman would enjoy it if they risking entering what is a very male dominated sport. I am the wife and a mum of a clay pigeon shooting family. My husband, son, and two daughters all shoot. My son has just competed in the world junior championships and came 10th overall, of which we are proud. So why is it, that those around us want to stop country people enjoying the sport they love. It has been a country sport for hundreds of years. We shoot clay disks and not birds or animals. In our village we have the reining World Sporting Champion and Richard Faulds, has just become the New Olympic Champion beating Russell Mark for Gold in Australia.
