The Colorado Rockies are one of baseball's newest franchises, who after starting their days playing at an American football stadium in Denver, soon moved to their own purpose built stadium for the start of the 1995 season. They achieved very little of note over the next twelve years, before an amazing run at the end of the 2007 season took them to the World Series for the first time in their short history. The Colorado Rockies are one of the newest franchises in Major League Baseball. The team was established in 1993 and plays its home matches in Denver at Coors Field. The club plays in the West division of the National League along with Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres. Having had a pretty poor record in the majors, which is unsurprising really considering how new they are, they defied belief and reached the clubs first ever World Series in 2007.
