Conspiracy Theories ... learn from conspiracy theories? How much truth is in them?

Newest Review: ... so happen again. They need everything to have relevance and meaning, not be random acts of chaos. I would say there's some truth in that and can see why certain people need to blame the CIA for everything big. But facts also point to extensive Machiavellian CIA involvement around the world in trying to reshape countries to serve the US over the decades, the revolutions in the 70`s and 80s ... more

We need look no further to Iraq and the missing WMD to know conspiracy theories can be all too real, western governments needing to do what they have to do secure their future oil and gas needs, our "national interests", as the British government likes to call them. But as the body count rises in gas rich Central Asia it's certainly not in the interests of the people of the countries we invade, the preferred dictators we put in place that will sell us that oil cheap so we can continue living the way we do not desirable. People that are only too keen to put people down as crackpots and idiots who entertain conspiracy theories, like the ones they label ...  Read the complete review

Before I begin this review I would like to say that this is my interpretation of the review title. It is in Speakers Corner and is therefore a discussion topic as I see it. I say this because I wrote a review in Speakers Category once and was rated NU by one of the guides who disagreed with my interpretation of the category because it wasn't the same as his although many others here had written in the same vein as I had and the Dooyoo staff were obviously happy with it as I wasn't told to change it. Anyway if the powers that be at Dooyoo disagree with my interpretation of this category then I will remove or rewrite the review. My take on conspiracy ...  Read the complete review

I have always loved conspiracy theories. I enjoy hearing the different interpretations of a subject because it makes me think. I like the idea that aliens exist and we have some on earth, kept under rapps by the US governent. However that doesnt mean i believe in them. I think they are useful thought provoking material. I was confronted by someone who was 100% convinced thet the 9-11 terroist attaks where set up by the US government as an excuse for them to be able to invade Iraq and clamp down on terroism, along with reaping the financial gain from oil. I asked how this person knew for definate that it was true, they said "I saw it on the internet, a whole ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review They are mainly a Media Story to sell Papers (570 words)

Conspiracy Theories are in my opinion mainly either a case of the media trying to sell more papers, extremely guillable people or mistaken identities. OK, now having probably annoyed just about everyone with my opening to this debate, I will elaborate a little further as to my thoughts on Conspiracy Theories. It is very hard to take this subject as just one subject because of the large variation of conspiracy theories. Take for example the issue of Aliens and Roswell (where the US Air Force is meant to have an Alien spaceship and performed Autopies on aliens). Now in my opinion this is of course complete nonsense. Most of the so-called ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Conspiracy Theories: Don't fall into paranoia (231 words)
by - written on 02/09/06 (Useful, 82 readings)

I have always found conspiracy theories throughly amusing. Even if they do exist what in God's name could you do about them anyway. Facination with conspiracy theories is life wasting but at the same time I, like other people seem to manage hours on the internet searching out new theories. Raving about random conspiracies really does make you completely nuts and should be avoided at all costs. So basically this minor rant of mine, is on the fact that there is a whole section devoted to conspiracies on this site. The fact is that without any personal experience to prove to ourselves that something exists: there is little way we can say without any ...  Read the complete review
