As society becomes unstable, religious intolerance rises; political machinations spill over into open war and disharmony in the community raises, we here more and more about conspiracy theories. Everyone has their pet theories, did astronauts really walk on the moon, was Diana’s car crash and accident, who actually shot J.R., but this is not a trawl through the intricacies of specific theories but more a background look on a more general level. Think conspiracy theory and most will automatically think of shadowy organisations with hidden agendas manipulating society, government and ultimately the fate of humanity. What if I told you they are all around you? What if I told you that they always have been? I’m not saying that the world is one big Dan Brown novel, but the modern world is no more open and transparent than it ever has been. We think because we have invented concepts such as democracy and religion that the world is a more enlightened place. What if I told you that these very concepts are the ones that perpetuate the secretive powers behind the throne? Whilst you are happily watching the accountable, visible systems that appear to run our world, you are kept from detecting the unaccountable powers that have an even bigger impact. I’m not for one moment saying that all of them have dark, secret agendum, but if they did, how would you know?

To illustrate this lets follow a few steps deeper into the idea. We live in a democracy, we vote in the people we want to run the country on our behalf and if they don’t perform we chose someone else to do the job. But we all know that the civil servants run government, they influence and guide the transitory parliamentary members as they stumble blindly through their fifteen minutes of fame. They are not elected in any democratic fashion. They move into their jobs through a system that has worked through out time and across the world. The siblings of the privileged and fortunate are groomed through public schools and universities and perpetuate the positions of power and control, which are the jurisdiction of a select section of society. Again I’m not saying that this control and influence is being used to manipulate the government to do things that are not in the democratic interest of the country, but if it were how would we know and what could we do about it?

If you take that a step forward, we are constantly being urged to hand over a lot of constitutional control to a European system of government. Although we have M.E.P’s, which we all know, have little real sway over events; control of the system is through panels of elected officials sitting in Strasburg and Brussels. Elected by whom? Not the people of Europe, no, elected by other officials. I’m not saying that they have any hidden agenda, but then how many of us no what the open agenda is? These are groups that sit and make decisions in “private” as opposed to “secret” and apparently there is a difference. And why do they sit behind closed doors? Apparently the argument is that they sit in “private” to show that they are above suspicion, if they sat in public then it would indicate that they were in someway trying to justify themselves to the rank and file and possibly had something to hide. I’m sure everything is above board, but then how would I know.

In the past the world was a place governed very much by a select few. From Sumer and Egypt we can see the beginnings of this disproportionate control system. Knowledge and information and therefore the power and control of the underlings was in the hands of an elite group. Astronomer priests controlled the rituals and systems that ran the ancient world; this information remained within the confines of these organisations. Ancient Greece and Rome was the home of the mystery schools, which followed, in the same tradition. Just as the Oracle at Delphi influenced some of the world shaking decisions, smaller decisions were taken all over the Mediterranean world based on the say so of an elite priesthood. Later these temples and schools evolved into organisations such as The Vatican, Orders of Knighthood, The Rosicrucian’s, The Royal Society and the like. The one group that have probably had more speculation and examination than any other is the Freemasons. Although the vast majority of Masons are in the organisations for all the right philanthropic and social reasons, it is worth noting that almost all of the signatories of the American Declaration of Independence were Masons, as were the leaders of the French Revolution.

The joint power held by these groups through to the present day can easily be seen. Most members of American government come from the Ivy League fraternity houses and/or the Christian far right. In Europe the Bilderberg group seems to exist as a vetting organisation for future government leaders and the world is obviously dictated too very heavily by the corporate bodies and business leaders. So it would seem that the real control over the people who live on this planet is in the hands of groups who not only are invisible to those of us who live in the smaller world, but are free to act and influence in ways that serve any purposes that they so wish. They are unaccountable, non-elected and part of small self-perpetuating groups that have always been the real power behind the throne. Whether there are hidden agendas and what they are we will never know, all I’m saying is that we may well be unsuspecting pawns in the machinations of a group of hidden bodies, an order that is the real power. If they exist and what they are up to, I will leave you to decide. But if they were interested in causing wars, controlling world economies and removing obstacles that get in the way of their desires, then how would we stop them. Maybe I’m just paranoid, but just because you are not paranoid doesn’t mean that they are not out to get you.
