Advantages: you work it out
Disadvantages: ditto
This isn't a conspiracy, its true. The masses are being controlled by a strange race of people- The rich and powerful. They employ strange waves of power to brainwash us- The media. Ok so its not as amazing as ufo's or the triffids but I really do believe there is something in this one. I don't just mean the rich, because no doubt some of the people that read this will be well off, and I doubt if its from writing millions of opinions like this one. Rich and poor people alike are being manipulated by large companies and governments such as our own and that of America. Now before this gets to political, I would like to point out that I voted for Labour, and I actually think they did slightly better than the tories before them. (if you give me a somewhat useful just because you voted conservative then I am going to write a letter to my mp!!!) A good example of how we as the masses are manipulated is that George Bush creature that lives in America. He is one of the biggest moron on TV and yet somehow he is also the worlds most powerful man, and he can declare war on anybody he chooses. I know for a fact that if Tony Blair put up barriers to stop people of ethic minorities from voting, and got his brother to rig the voting system and stop a recount then I wouldn't vote for him. And ok, most people didn't vote for Bush, but more people did that have probably ever voted for the green party in all time. Why? Well its simple- we are brainwashed by the TV. For years the TV has been telling us things that aren't true. If you don't believe me then answer this following question: Question: Name a small rodent that commits suicide, possibly by jumping off cliffs when the population gets too high. Answer: Lemmings?-wrong. The 1958 Disney film convinced us of this mass suicide when the film makers forcefully encouraged their fate in the interest of 'education'. What else are we being told in the intere
st of education? In the 80's many people wore track suits and shell suits, I didn't but many others did. Why? Fashion. It was commonly accepted that tracksuits were a good idea. Due to advertising and celebrities and models wearing such items the collective consciousness was told what to do. Now everybody says they are a bad idea. America is the best example of consumerism, on average an American will eat 4 times that of an Ethiopian and twice as much as someone from the uk. They also have a lot more material possessions, and regardless of all the student flower-power of the 60's and Timothy Leary, things are very important over there. The same is true here, and I think it is not because that us Westerners have more money and can buy all these things, its that we are bombarded with other peoples opinions. I hate adverts on TV. Especially adverts for women's cosmetics. They are so lame-brained that they are really saying "Women, if you can fall for this then you really are thick. By the way, you are worth it". And what worries me is that these adverts are financially viable, otherwise these huge companies that make their money convincing us we need to look a certain way would promote their products differently. Ok so this is a big whinge. And maybe you think I am some left winged moron, well that what they want you to think. Like the popular film, the Matrix, the wool is being pulled over our eyes- we are living a life of deception. Why do you think the film was so popular? 2 reasons, firstly its main idea is something that is secretly worriyng all of us, even if we are not aware of it. Secondly would be the obvious fact that a lot of advertising has convinced us to part with our hard earned cash. When was the last time you bothered to notice what the sky looked like? Possibly when you were on the way to work or picking your kids up from school. We are so wrapped up in the material world we forg
et little things like, I don't know, the little fact that one person dies every 6 seconds from polluted water or that people are dying because we have a massive hole in the ozone layer. We don't question enough. How do we know the Americans were the first people on the moon? Because the TV tells us so- the TV wouldn't lie would it? In this opinion I have asked a lot of questions, and not given many answers. They are for you to work out, don't listen to anyone else, question everything.
