The England team at last has some 'fight' about it. Players who look like they WANT to play for their country and WIN. No player personifies that spirit more than Dominic Cork. Not since the days of Ian Botham have we had a player who comes out to bat - grits his teeth - and gets on with the job in whatever the situation. Then he comes on to bowl and shows the same desire, passion to do well. I've just say and watched him bowl in tandem with Darren Gough - another true 'lion'- against the Windies tonight. He's not the quickest bowler, but he puts every ounce of energy into every delivery - snarling at batsmen as if they've no right ...  Read the complete review

Dominic Cork: Back where he belongs (171 words)

After playing uncommitted cricketers who seemingly don’t care when they are playing badly such as Ramprakrash, Adams and Butcher, it is nice to see Dominic Cork back in the side. It is amazing that he has been criticised in the past for being too enthusiastic. After a sensational start to test cricket, his career had been on a major down turn. However, in the second test against the West Indies, he proved that he is still capable of putting in match winning performances at test level. As a bowler, he delivers balls aggressively, and with pace generating immense amounts of swing. As a batsman, he plays with confidence and aggression. He should now take his ...  Read the complete review

It's great to see Dominic Cork back in the England Team. Whilst his county averages this season so far have not been great, his part in the second test win was deserving of the man of the match accolade that he received. I just hope he can build on this and keep his place in the side, as his swing bowling can turn matches, as can his batting, where he is more than capable of scoring a good amount of runs. I also hope that the selectors can live with his discretions in the past, where he has been (cruelly) punished for being over-competitive. He looks to have sorted out the demons in his head as well, with his home life being more settled. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Dominic Cork: Our best all rounder (170 words)

It’s difficult to imagine why Cork hasn’t been playing regular test matches for England, because in my opinion he is one of our best allrounders. Ok I’ll be honest he isn’t a world class player but compared he is probably the best, just look at what happened in the 2nd Windies Test – 7 wickets and a match winning 33 not out (2nd Innings). Dominic Cork has played Test Cricket before and has had varying degrees of success. When he first appeared he was supreme, with a hat trick at Edgbaston. However he was a bit inconsistent (like most of our players) and through a combination of this and injury he was dropped (big mistake). ...  Read the complete review
