I have been off the site for a while. You see, my wife has just had a cancer scare. Thankfully things are ok, but it started me thinking of life today. I have tried to get this out of my system, in the form of a poem. Punctuation, and grammar may not be great, but forgive me. I would appreciate it if you let me know your thoughts. Thanks


Life's too short.


When I look at today's youth,
smoking, sex and drug abuse,
I try to help, but whats the use?
Life's too short.

good manners are an ancient thing,
the value held in wedding rings,
the joy that 'proper' love can bring,
life's too short.

Too many end up in court,
Gun's, and knives too easy bought,
what exactly were they taught?
Life's too short

It's in the news again, attack,
a young life lost for being black,
The gangs will want to get their own back,
life's too short.

Young girls drunk, and passing out,
goodness knows who is about?
not even enough strength to shout,
Life's too short.

Sex too young, they get in trouble,
even pregnancy wont burst their bubble,
'get rid of it', on the double
life's too short.

Now, I have kids to call my own,
what will they be when fully grown?
I won't have this for my flesh, nor bone,
life's too short.

It's up to us to make a change,
society to re-arrange,
to lessen some of the worlds pains,
life's too short.

It's time to get off the fence,
give them back their innocence,
Jump to our kids defence,
Life is too short.
