Advantages: Great Viewing,Good Racing
Disadvantages: The Car Park
Ive visited Croft circuit now twice, once for the British Touring Car Championship and once for the Powertour series. I have to say it is an easy place to find off the motorway, its sign posted and I never had trouble finding it unlike some circuits such as Knockhill and Snetterton. The viewing is superb at the circuit,if you can manage to get yourself on the banking at the first corner you can see half the circuit and there is always a collision or two at the first corner and the first corner is the main overtaking point on the circuit. Parking at the circuit though is a nightmare, for the BTCC event all cars where parked on a field alongside the circuit. As one of the first there I was forced right to the back of what was a huge field. When it came to coming away it took me 3 hours to get off the car park! With only one gate and 40,000 people all trying to get off the field at the same time it was a nightmare. The Facilites at the circuit are average. They have a nice control tower there and the garages are up to standard but the commentators have to commentate off a bus at the end of the pitlane! Also the support paddock is often liable to drainage problems and flooding is likely. Camping is available a mile down the road for just £5 and you get all the neccesaries. The ticket priceing was standard for the BTCC but for the Powertour it proved to be the cheapest circuit at just £12. I would recommend a visit for the quality of the racing and the great viewing you can get but make sure you are near the gate of the car park!
