I have now been a fan of Derby County for some considerable years and felt like i should produce a fact-file for those researching the club for any different reasons. The most famous events in the clubs history come in the years 1946, where the club won the F.A Cup, and in both 1972 and 1975, where, under the guidance of a young and prospering Brian Clough, the side were able to win the league. I am a big Derby County fan, and have been a season ticket holder for the past 3 years. I've supported the club for the last 18 years. Famous events in the history of the club include winning the FA Cup in 1946 and winning the league in 1972 and 1975. It is with Derby County that the legendary manager, Brian Clough came in to the nation's spotlight. In recent years, Derby gained a fantastic promotion of the Premier League in 2007 with Billy Davies as manager. This was achieved by winning the play off final at Wembley Stadium. Derby County have signed a very good player this summer in Ravenelli, but I honestly cannot see him making much difference to the side and I think that they will be relegated this season. Derby have got quite a few good players in their squad, but I don’t think they have got enough to keep them in the premiership and they are one of the favourites to go down. They have also got a good manager in Jim Smith, but he doesn’t seem to be able to get Derby higher up the premiership.
