by - written on 05/09/09 (Very useful, 77 readings)
Rating:

I was not sure how to rate this subject. Finally I decided to give it two stars because when used in the context of 'fad' dieting it can become a harmful habit. However, when used in the sense of a 'balanced nutrition regime', it is something we all should embrace. But how to shed those extra pounds? In this discussion I will share my ...  Read the complete review

I thought I'd write this review here as it's the closest I can find for the subject matter and have just discovered you cannot seem to write two reviews in the same category which is a shame as some can cover so many subjects/areas. Anyway, in this review I'd like to put forward my long time belief that fad/most diets simply do not work ...  Read the complete review

I think the whole idea of diets is incredibly interesting, is it something that we've always done as human beings or is it something that's only been in creation as long as mass media has had the opportunity to tell us what we should look like? Diet's can be useful, if you have high blood pressure, cholesterol or are massively ...  Read the complete review

I started writing this review a while ago, but I kept deleting it because I thought it sounded wrong. But now I'm just going to write it, and ramble a lot, and see what happens. Dieting. A lot of people say dieting is bad for you. This isn't necessarily the case. Although, yes, it can be done in completely the wrong way, it can ...  Read the complete review

For me the best way to lose weight is not to obsess about losing it,if you just make small changes at a time the weight will come off a whole lot easier. My downfall is fizzy drinks and when i cut these out then i lost weight without even exercising. Obviously exercise is the best key to losing weight but when were giving up everything ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Dieting is a horrible word (339 words)
by - written on 27/10/08 (Very useful, 66 readings)
Rating:

It always astounds me the amount of people who are sucked in to fad diets where you have to stick to certain colour foods, live off of cabbage soup or ban certain food groups. If I were to write a book on dieting it would say one simple phrase "Eat Less, exercise more". I dont believe there is any point in banning chocolate ...  Read the complete review

We've all got that friend that shovels a chinese down their throat then snacks on crisps, chocolate and sweets an hour later and never gains weight. Its a very well known saying that "We should eat to live and not live to eat." Dieting is all about following this. Our body is a machine which needs energy to run. As its said that "Excess of everything is bad", excess of energy is also bad for our body. Energy cannot be created, we all know this. It can only be ...  Read the complete review

I know I need to lose weight. Every Monday I decide I will lose a couple of pounds by the weekend. A couple of years ago, I was a size 14-16. I didn’t think I was especially fat, no-one actually called me it to my face, but now when I look at the photographs and the remaining stretch marks, I’m shocked. Today, I’d give Posh Spice a complex. But hear me out! This is not gloating about my weight loss; I am that person who fits into the size 4 ...  Read the complete review

“I have lost and gained the same 10lbs over and over so many times, my cellulite must have deja-vu.” - Anon Is there anything quite as boring as listening to somebody go on about their diet? I wanted to say that I agree with a certain reviewer that I too don't agree with dieting unless it has been designed for you by a qualified dietician. Like most people I have tried my fair share of diets in an attempt to lose weight however no matter what I try I always tend to find that whilst there is some initial weight loss after a few months the weight always manages to find its way back. Diets. Where do I start? Firstly, I'm gonna come right out and say this. I do not agree with diets in any way. Magazines (mainly female orientated ones)show pictures every week of celebrities who have washboard stomachs and not an ounce of cellulite. It creates an impression that all people should aspire to their level of fitness - be it by ...  Read the complete review
