I confess I am addicted to computer games, and if you were to meet me in person, you would probably never believe it, as I just dont fit the normal bill of a PC gamer. Firtsly, I'm a woman, I wont ever see my twenties again, and I am supposed to be a professional career woman.

But maybe that is where the attraction in PC games comes of me, and the millions of others who spend hours of their lives glued to the PC. Maybe it is the fact that you can be a different person on screen than what you are in real life. Maybe what we all crave in some form or another, is escapism, and a PC game allows for that.

But then is my "addiction" so differnt from any other "addiction" that is out there, and maybe not recognised as such. For example is the girl spending all her money on new clothes, the newest hair styles, and all the best make-up not practising a similar escapism,and therefore addiction?

I propose we all suffer from some form of addiction, be it to PC games, reading books, exercise, fashion, coffee....you name it, we all are guilty dont you think?
