Advantages: Constant patrolling, reduction in gangs, door to door enquiry

Disadvantages: None

I live in Brent and we are covered by Metropolitan Police. It is ment to be the bestest since it is serving the capital of the country. Overall crime figures in Britain are falling down according to the figures but who knows more than a kid walking in the alley ways. The truth is that half of the crime goes unreported. This may be because of the fear of been attacked again by the thugs or people just not bothered to make a change.

Our local policing are very efficient since I see them patrolling around our streets atleast twice a day. The patrolling team included 1 police officer and 1 police community support officers. The PCSO were introduces in London in 2002 with an aim to protect London streets and provide visible policing. They are very helpful to our local community and help them resolve conflicts within neighbourhood.

The crimes are been commited on London streets every second but due to visible presence of police, now I feel somewhat safer than before. In last 3-4 months , the police have carried our more PCSO requirement to meet the demands of local patrolling team. The uncivil behaviour carried out by school teenagers is under control due to presence of police outside schools. This has reduced the number of troublemaking students hanging around the streets and making aggressive comments to passerby.

The local police are very friendly in nature as they even say 'hi,hello' everytime I see them asking me how is my studies going on.

I am sure they are working very hard to ensure the community feels safer than ever before. Faith is not one way, it has to be two ways. If you put your hopes high on our brave police force, they will return you the result.... since they are normal citizen under the uniform, just like you and me.

Summary: I believe in them

I dont agree with what the user above commented. Indian police are as good as any other in the world. You think its easy to handle 100000000 poppulation and keep them under the law. British police is facing problems handling 55 million population and just imagine how hard it would be for Indian police to handle 100 times more population of 50 differnet ethnic tribes , 250 language spoken there and over 4 major religions. I would be afraid to walk on London streets at night but in India I can do anything at anytime without any fear. I completly disagree with what you said above.

It would be extremely amusing to compare our wonderful police force in the UK to the corrupt police force in India! People would thank their lucky stars to know how reliable our lot are here and how safe they keep us compared to how it all works in places like India! I was horrified when I was out there a few years back and I heard that you can't ask the police for directions if you're lost as they'll tell you to "get lost" and stop wasting their time even if they're just hanging around smoking on the street. If someone breaks into your home and they get caught the police take them down to the station and beat them for hours so they won't do it again and even invite the victims along to come watch and ask for money to beat them even more!

When someone tried to break into our home earlier this year the police arrived within 5 minutes of them being called and were really supportive!
