Advantages: Great to find out about local opinion before visiting a place.

Disadvantages: Helps to be multi-lingual

Being part of Europe it would be useful to have access to other parts of the "dooyoo empire" to see what opinions other countries think are important and rate or despise.
There is a direct link on the dooyoo home page for you to access other dooyoo sites where armed with your phrase book and a language dictionary you can review to your hearts content.
A downside to this if you want to write, is that you have to register on the site for whatever country you want.
A further problem is that you need to be fluent if you want to write any sort of coherent review.
Perhaps in the future there will be language translation software on the web which automatically translates what you read and write. Then dooyoo would really be effective as a web medium. (If there already is please someone let me know - and can it be incorporated into the dooyoo programme so that all users have a common platform?)
For now it is good to check out what the locals think of their town before you go there on holiday.

It would be nice to see a greater degree of integration for those who wanted it, I agree.

There is a translation service available through babelfish(.altavista.co.u k), but just try running one of the foreign ops through it into English and you'll see the kind of standard you get (of translation, not of writing by euro-dooyooers!)

Imagine how addictive that would be.... writing our opinions in French, German, Italian and Spanish as well and then reading all the others over there too.

I can speak French and German so have read some of the opinions over on those sites. It would be nice if our member ids were cross-indexed so that we could at least rate our fellow dooyooers in other countries..... those of us who can read the other languages that is.

Funny thing is, I don't remember signing in to the German site but they keep sending me e-mails in German.
