Ive been on this site now since around about September.Basically it all started when I started my I.T course at college. My friend (mrtox)who is also a member on this site reccomended dooyoo to me. Thank God he did! I now get a lot of entertainment off my account. Everytime I log in at night I eagerly anticipate how many opinions of mine have been rated and what people think of them. Its sad I know but it gives me a real buzz. I even get very agitated if the server speed is slow and the page takes ages to load, which sometimes leads me to start cussing and swearing at the computer to hurry up! I tell you forget nicotine this site is even more addictive!

I have to admit like quite a few people who sign up for dooyoo I originally just wrote opinions to make money fast. This worked short term as I got about 6 reads on a review but it didn`t really add up and I didn`t feel a lot of satisfacton when I was visiting other people accounts reading they had hundreds of hits on their opinion and then there was me who had 5 or 6. I then stepped back and thought to myself, Why can`t I get that many hits? The answer was my opinions where basically not good enough. If your opinion is to get a lot of hits it has to be interesting to read, entertaining and also quite lengthy.

As I started to write opinions of a greater length I started to find they got rated more often and therefore the more dooyoo miles you collected. But now a couple of months on from that I now take pride in what I write. I don`t just slam a load of rubbish down on the screen and hope for several hits then move onto another section. The dooyoo miles don`t matter as much anymore, they are still a good incentive but I find I now enjoy expressing my opinions on matters and like to try to help people make decisions on products.

I also when I first started I didn`t go around rating other peoples opinions. Now I do, I enjoy reading other peoples opinions that are in the same section as one of
mine and enjoy comparing my thoughts on matters with other peoples. You can also by doing this make new friends and meet new people which all is part of what I call the "dooyoo experience". It isn`t just about writing reviews its about exchanging opinions, making friends and just generally having fun. I have several people in my trusted list who`s accounts I visit on a daily basis because they like me are people who are addicted and on a daily basis write opinions that I find interesting to read and they often make me think about things I havn`t thought about before.

I find with dooyoo you have to be careful which sections you write an opinion in. For example I am a massive fan of Motor Racing and have visited all the major circuits so I decided to write opinions on the circuits I have visited. I have found though that my opinions havn`t really been rated which is quite dissapointing. I believe that it is beacause Motor Racing is quite a specialist subject to write about and immediatly cuts off a certain number of people from reading it as they aren`t intersted in Motor Racing. Whilst If you wrote in the Speakers corner section or in this section I am guaranteed to get a fairly healthy number of hits as it interests quite a broad variety of community members and doesn`t cut certain members off.

The Crowning and the Hall of Fame are really the main incentive of dooyoo now I find, not the miles. I received my first crown last week for a review I wrote on a Car Racing game. I was shocked, and pleasently surprised at the crowning of the opinion. It was a real incentive to me to carry on as I felt a sense of achievement not just that I`d wrote an opinion which will do well for a day or so then be forgotten about like so many other opinion of mine.

The Hall Of Fame is the thing that most genuine users of dooyoo strive to get in. People who are elected must feel a sense of achievement and pride that other community users find their opinions that
interesting and informative that they have taken the time to nominate them for the Hall Of Fame. I know my friend who has yet to be nominated really is desperate to get in there and is doing everything he can to make his opinions that good that people will sit back and say "yeh this guys good". Myself I am just for the moment concentrating on getting my ratings up. I have around three that are doing well but nothing on the scale of the users in the hall of fame. They have hits of fifty or more while I languish with even my best opinion on the twenty mark. This is what I now intend to look at and consider how I can improve.

Just before I finish I`d like to comment on the new changes to dooyoo and the yahoo club.

I have found people complaining about the decrease in the amount of miles you earn for writing an opinion. I personally found it very genourous them paying 25p for each opinion considering that you can get 50p if you get a review crowned. I think its a good idea to reduce it as it will get rid of people who just sign up to try and make money just for writing the opinion, like I did at first. It will mean the community will now be full of good, interesting opnions that people will want to read and not just drovel which can only be a good thing. I find the people who are complaining are the people who just want the miles.

Finally the Yahoo Club. I have to say I have only posted one or two messages on there as I've only recently found it but it is a good way to interact with other users and find out whats going on in the dooyoo community. It is well worth a visit and as with the dooyoo site I would thoroughly recommend it to anybody.

Well written op, however (if we really want to be technical about it) the heading was Dooyoo Addiction, while you wrote mainly about "Dooyoo experience" not the addiction as such. But apart from that, great ;)

Cheers bexxie,as I said to you in the chat room I am sure you`ll get one soon.I found your opinions to be very interesting and if you read some of my earlier writing you wouldn`t believe that I would have three crowns only 2 months on from writing them.Just keep writing and its strange how your opinions improve as time goes by.

cheers
