Advantages: Can pick up useful tips from other reviews, Great site to use, Useful for getting you opinions heard
Disadvantages: Can get tedious after a while, Takes up quite a lot of time
As I have now been a member of Dooyoo for some 15 months, I felt that now would be as good a time as any to write an opinion on my feelings about why Dooyoo is so addictive, and why I’ve stayed on here for as long as I have. The one main (and obvious) reason to me is being able to write opinions on things that I feel strongly about, or have had a lot of experience with; although in most cases it's just Food, Internet Sites, Books, and TV Programmes, I feel it is still worth having people to read my opinions on these topics as you can maybe influence some people to try and use the product I’ve reviewed, or maybe not, as may be the case. Aside from writing reviews on Dooyoo, being able to read other people's views on products is often fascinating at times, as some reviews are very cleverly written and nice to read. Of the 800+ reviews that I’ve rated so far, some have been excellent to read, others poor, but they're mostly of good quality, and make good reading overall. I tend to also only read reviews from certain topics, e.g. television, music, food and drink, etc., so I tend to gloss over most of the reviews on Dooyoo, unless they're written by a member I trust. Of the time I spend on the Internet, overall I’d say I spend about 3/4 hour per day checking out new reviews on Dooyoo, so it doesn't really work out that much anyway. Getting ratings and comments from other users is another reason I check Dooyoo, and seeing what kind of response you get for a review (like this one!) is both exciting and scary, as you don't know what kind of things people will say; but on the whole, I’ve had a good response to my Opinions so far, and this has helped keep me writing for Dooyoo for as long as I have. Even if I get poor ratings, comments left by other members can be useful in learning from mistakes made, or things omitted in my reviews. The only disadvantages I can see of spendin
g lots of time on Dooyoo is that it can be time-consuming to read other people's reviews, and also isn't perhaps the best way of spending your free time, just sat in front of a computer screen. That said, you can learn quite a lot from reading opinions on things you wouldn't normally use, and can pick up some useful tips. Overall, I have found Dooyoo to be a useful and interesting site to use for the last year or so. I wouldn't say that I'm addicted to Dooyoo, or at least not as much as when I first started, but I still enjoy writing reviews and rating other people's opinions as much as ever. Hopefully I'll be able to carry on writing, reading and rating stuff on Dooyoo for some time to come. Thanks for reading. :-)
