To the majority of people reading this, this review is quite clearly crown worthy!! In fact, by the time you have read it, it would have ticked all the boxes, and filled you with inspiration.

You will have found this review informative, humorous , entertaining, and dare I say excellently written! Also it will most probably, no, definately inspire lots of you to write (or attempt to write) an equally crown worthy review.

(I typed that with a straight face! Honest!)

HOWEVER like hundreds of other reviews fitting this bill, this review will most likely (read definately) NOT be awarded a crown.

So what is this utter madness about?
What is this injustice??
But firstly what the devil is a Crown anyway?


What is a Crown

Well. Officially a Crown is a highly prized decorative head piece usually owned/worn and adored by a ruling monarch. The real meaning however, is far more relevant, and probably more important.

A Dooyoo Crown is actually an object of great pride and admiration, awarded by Dooyoo to reviews which have met the high standards expected. A review that will blow your socks off! Literally!


When is a Crown awarded

As I understand it, a Crown is awarded to a review which is deemed to be exceptionally useful to another person, an has been nominated for a Crown award, by our peers.

Rumour has it, that once nominated, Dooyoo secret agents, then come along and read each review which has been nominated and bestow a Crown upon reviews which are deemed worthy. The actual elements needed to qualify for a Crown are deeply guarded secrets, and are stored in the Bank of England vaults (allgedly).

In my opinion, Crowns seem to be normally awarded to reviews which have personality, and are written showing a deep passion for the product, or an in-depth knowledge, basically a review which will inspire, inform and motivate the reader.


What is a Crown worth

A Crown is a priceless honour, Princes have fought over them, Nations have been torn apart by them. Kings (and Queens) have ruled kingdoms wearing them. Oh you meant Dooyoo Crowns.

Well, Dooyoo upon bestowing this wonderful honour, kindly reward the writers with an additional 1500 dooyoo points, a glittery Gold Crown displayed next to the title, and a mention of this award on their "Newly Appointed Crowns" page, as an inspiration to others to provide a simlarly high standard of work.


The Great Crown Conspiracy

As with everything in life, there are conspiracies and sceptics.

There are those who believe that the dooyoo appointed specialists known collectively as "The Guides" control the sole key to gaining Crowns, and that they command an unfair monopoly.

There are also those who believe that only reviews nominated by a "Guide" will ever be considered for a Crown. Leading to speculation corruption could be rife amongst "The Guides" and they only nominate each other.

These rumours are most probably all false, and it is more likely the system is fair, and un-biased. However a little conspiracy is not a bad thing! I think the whole mystery of exactly how they are awarded adds to the fun of the website in general.

Those who still think Crowns are unfairly awarded, how many reviews have been awarded Crowns that don't deserve one? None that I have seen.


Brief Summary

A Dooyoo Crown is a way of distinguishing and rewarding the excellent reviews, from the great ones. They inspire writers to improve, and subsequently, more importantly raise the overall quality of the reviews.

It is true that not all excellent reviews will be crowned, the same way not all Princes will become Kings, and although not a perfect system, it is undoubtedly a fair one.

In my opinon Dooyoo Crowns are a great complimentary reward, to an already generous rewards system. A fantastic fun feature from Dooyoo!!
