Advantages: Gives users advice on how to rate fairly
Disadvantages: N/A
Rating and leaving comments for Dooyoo reviews seems easy, as it only involves clicking on one of four options. But in order to rate reviews fairly, it's important to decide how well-written a review is - so this is my advice, particularly to newer users, on how I would rate various reviews, according to their content. If a review is well-written, reasonably long, covers all or near enough all the required points about the product you're reviewing, and helps enough for other people to decide if they would buy/use the product that is being reviewed, then it is obviously worth a 'Very Useful' rating. I tend to give these ratings out the most, as most users on dooyoo write good reviews, and there's little I can fault people on, except that some reviews often tend to be longer than is necessary! A 'Useful' rating is probably the second most common rating I give reviews; those reviews that get these are good, and fairly well-written, but usually too short or do not contain enough information or facts to warrant a 'VU' rating - it's not detailed enough to help people decide if they'd use that product. If someone misses some obvious points that should have been included, then I may leave a comment about that review, to tell the user that they could have included more information, to make it a better review. I rarely give out 'Somewhat Useful' or 'Not Useful' ratings on dooyoo, as I mentioned above, most users write decent length, well-informed reviews, and know what is required for a good opinion. However, there are a number of users who use dooyoo and think it's okay to write just one paragraph on a product - it isn't, in my opinion. These reviews always do poorly in ratings, and nearly always deserve an 'SU' rating, if not less. If someone does write a review that is about a paragraph long, then more often than not, I'd rather not give a rating to that revi
ew, as it doesn't really seem worth it. It's also worth pointing out again that reviews that are given 'Not Useful' are deleted after a period of time. Most people on dooyoo often start out writing shorter ops, but as time goes on, you realise more what is needed to make a good review, and put more detail in them. Leaving comments is often a different matter, not least because I don't often leave comments, but also as most people will have their own ideas on when to leave comments about reviews; I usually only leave comments when I have something relevant to say about a review, such as if it's not detailed enough, something that needs pointing out, e.g. mistakes, lack of information about a product, or to mention something interesting about that review. Obviously, as mentioned above, people have their own ideas on how to rate and leave comments, so you may or may not agree with what I've said in this review, based on how you think reviews on dooyoo should be rated, but this is just a rough guide to how I would rate people's opinions on dooyoo. :-)
