Advantages: A great place to read about products write reviews and make cash
Disadvantages: Takes up a lot of my time i might just be hooked!
I love Dooyoo. I was recommended this site by a friend as a way to up my income slightly. I was informed at the time that it is a community and not just a place to post loads of reviews I was also advised not to write more that 3 reviews a day, which at the time I though was a bit silly, but I can now see why and I understand fully! It was also suggested to me that if people read and rate my review I should look at their and review them.
Since joining the site back in August and starting to write on here in October, I have made £60 from this I have with drawn £50 as a cheque, which arrived very promptly, and a £10 Amazon voucher.
How the site works. You review an item, website, place, topic etc if your review is over 150 words (thanks cat) you will be awarded with points worth 50p then if anyone reads and rates your review you get points per rate. The amount of points you get does not change depending on the rate, which I feel is a downfall of the site I think if the review is rated Not Useful I do not think you should receive any points. I have overcome this problem slightly because if I read a review that I feel is no useful I will not rate it at all so they don't get any money for the review from me! The other rates that can be given are very useful, useful and somewhat useful. If I am rated not useful of somewhat useful, I read the comments of send a message to the rater and ask for suggestions to improve the review. If it turns out they are revenge rates (if you give them a low rating they rate you low in return) I will report to dooyoo.
I love dooyoo it is the best review website I have used so far. If I am looking at buying an item, I will read the reviews on here before hand. I have also make things from the recipes and bought food I have heard of from on here!
The only thing I cannot understand about dooyoo is how they make there money. They must give away hundreds of pounds a day and I cannot see how they can afford to do it! I also cannot understand why they have not limited the amount of reviews a member can write a day to three or four reviews! I have seen people come on here and write 20+ reviews in one session! This is not the point of dooyoo.
You can also suggest items websites or topics to review which is fantastic if you have something you want to review that isn't on the site already. Dooyoo has become one of my favorite websites I would recommend it to a friend and give them advice on how to use the site!
Summary: A great community site take time to read the rules!

- 12/12/08 I believe that they pay per member read. You don't get paid if a non-member reads your review. So, someone finds the product they are interested in, say on Google, and your Dooyoo review is ranked. The person clicks, reads your review, then clicks on an advert on the Dooyoo page. Dooyoo get paid for that advert, and they pay you nothing for that. You get paid in the short term, while Dooyoo can keep getting paid for your reviews in the long term. |

- 26/11/08 I know this is not really about "rewards", but here goes: You should always rate, even if you're giving out lower rates. You might feel that by not rating that you're teaching the author a lesson for poor writing or whatever, but by not giving out that low rate, you're also having an influence on everyone else that writes in that category because the reviews won't be accurately sorted by rating. |
