Drink and Drive?!

Description: On average, there are 200 - 300 road deaths each year associated with blood alcohol levels between 10 - 80mg%! That ... more
Drink and Drive?! ... means every year many people die or are seriously injured because of drunk drivers! How can we reduce that problem? Is there a way to make sure that less people drive after they had a couple of pints or other drinks? What do you think about the legal restrictions? Are they OK, too high or too low? We would like to hear your opinion on this subject!

What we don't want to see is this all part of the tactics to bring in blanket average speed cameras, giving you an automated ticket if you cover , say, 23 miles in a 20mph zone, showing you went faster than you should. But any move to slow down boy races and sales reps near schools and old people's flats has to be a good one. But as always the decent driver is blamed by the ... more

Premium Review Drink and Drive?!: New Labour is drunk on car taxes! (1432 words)

Clearly drunk driving is by far the worse sin for any driver to partake in, apart from hit n run, of course, and the day they invent speed cameras that can detect the drunks is the one we long await. The solution to get more drunks off the road is with more traffic cops but the government have decided to cut back on those traffic cops and put up more speed cameras up instead, so allowing more drunks to drive but hoping more will be banned by that pure volume of cameras and so by statistical likelihood only. To be fair those cameras are working and there has been a 40% reduction in the amount of serious injuries and deaths on our roads since 1994, at least forcing some ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Is it worth it? (233 words)

I have to say alchohol affects everyone differently. I know there are guidelines on limits for driving. I have to admit that I wouldn't get behind a wheel having had even one glass of wine. One glass of wine is enough to make me feel tipsy and I don't fancy the idea of not being all there when driving myself or even others. I don't want to be responsible for someone losing their life for the sake of a drink. It's just not worth it. When you have 2 kids to think of you don't want to be doing things that could jeopardise your life! I know that you can have an accident without alcohol but why increase your chances for the sake of that drink or two or 3. Obviously you ...  Read the complete review

Drink and Drive?!: DRINK AND DRIVE - GET REAL!! (186 words)

I have to completely agree with what you are saying here. I myself am only 15 but am performing the play in question - Too Much Punch for Judy - for my Drama GCSE. It is a hard hitting piece that really opened my eyes to what could lie in wait if I , when 18, joined in with the numerous drink drivers who completely have no sense or respect for other peoples right to be safe from a lunatic who is putting not only their life, but also other innocent peoples lives at risk. Is there anyway around this dilemma and catastrophe? I do not know. All I could think of and maybe suggest is having the car manufacturers making the engine only begin after a sucessful breath test has ...  Read the complete review

Having stumbled across this section and having read a number of the reviews on drink driving, one thing strikes me - most (if not all, I didn't read them all) are from people who agree drinking and driving is a no-no. Interesting there are no comments from the people who actually do drink and drive - does this mean they know they are guilty and they are ashamed to admit it? I certainly hope so and, even more, hope their consciences tell them not to drink and drive. I have heard so many people refusing "just another" drink because they are afraid they will be stopped by the police, breathalysed and have points on their licence. "I might lose my ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Drink and Drive?!: Alcohol is Evil When it Comes to Driving. (1247 words)

This subject is one that I hope nobody ever gives five stars and that is because in my eyes it can never ever be seen in a good light ever. On two occasions in my life drink driving has been bought up in horrible ways and many times after have I preached to people not to drink drive and here I will hopefully tell you why I think it is such an awful thing to do: ----- What is drink driving? Just for those who do not know as there may be some, drink driving is when you drive under the influence of alcohol. ----- Why is it dangerous? When an individual consumes alcohol it affects them in more ways than you ...  Read the complete review
