The high hurdles has a completely different meaning these days. Gone are the truely amatuer days of true athletes. These days I'm affraid the contestants are governed by the lure of money. This means they have to continually get the best performance. The only way to do this is to take illegal substances. We do not know all the long term effects but death, impotence, body changes and bad health are to name but a few. I fell all the athletes taking part in any contest should be screened for drug abuse. Any one failing the test should have a life ban. Get rid of the drugs and bring back true amatuer sport.
