Dion Dublin. . . . . . . . The Man Mountain Dion Dublin was born in Leicester on the 22nd of April 1969. As a youngester he play in Leicestershire, until he signed a professional contract with Norwich but failed to make an appearance in the 1988 season and was released. Between 1988 and 1992 he gained a reputation for a goal scoring target man centre forward, scoring 52 goals in 156 appearances. After seeing Dublin in a cup tie, Alex Ferguson paid £1 million to bring Dion to Old Trafford. As an Aston Villa supporter I am a fan of Dion Dublin. I use to admire him when he was at Coventry so I was pleased when Gregory signed him in November 1998 for £5.75 million. At first I thought it was a bit expensive but with the price of footballers now £5.75 million is pittance. Dion first started his playing career aged 18 at Norwich. To be honest at this time I didn’t know who he was and where he came from and I didn't seem to take interest at his next club Cambridge either.
