Newest Review: ... treed own in the first place to go over board on the packaging so instead for easter we have been looking for some alternative treats. To satisfy the chocolate expectations of my young niece who will be coming over on the Sunday we are going to have an easter egg hunt around the house but these will be the small little chocolate eggs that you get loose and I will be using some of these as a topping for a home made chocolate cake that will have an easter theme to it. As a present this year we have bought an adopt a dolphin package from the WWF which is a much more rewarding and she will get a cuddly toy, a booklet and also a print of the... more

Premium Review Easter Specials in General: Be differet and cut out the waste (294 words)

This year we have made a joint decision not to buy Easter Eggs for each other or any other family members, the main reason for this is the fact that there is way too much packaging that comes with Easter eggs and while the cardboard might be recyclable it would be far better not to cut the treed own in the first place to go over board on the packaging so instead for easter we have been looking for some alternative treats. To satisfy the chocolate expectations of my young niece who will be coming over on the Sunday we are going to have an easter egg hunt around the house but these will be the small little chocolate eggs that you get loose and I will be using ...  Read the complete review

Not being brought up a religious person I've always found Easter to be somewhat depressing apart from it being our longest UK holiday? As a child I always remember the bad weather, the shops being closed, no internet & 2 TV channels,(both in black & white) showing 'Songs of Praise' or lengthy religious epics. What compensated for this were the Easter eggs! I remember them being such a treat as in those days they only went on sale in the shops around March & were very special. as they were such a novelty though, my brothers , sister & I ate far too many, too quickly & we were satiated with chocolate. Today things seem ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Easter Specials in General: Easter Bargain Alert (560 words)

Wow Grab A Bargain Introduction I just popped into my local Morrisons today to stock up on a few bits. I couldn't believe that they have such an enormous display of Easter products on sale already. My goodness its only been a few weeks since Christmas and Valentines day isn't even out of the way yet. I had a good look about and to be honest the price of some of these things were absolutely ridiculous. Don't they realise that we are currently in a recession and that most normal families don't have the money to spend on luxuries. Not sure about anyone else but my family will certainly be tightening the belt over the next few weeks and probably months. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The 4 categories of Easter Eggs (yes I know it's too early f ... (393 words)

Easter Eggs have becoming a booming industry. The old tradition was to paint chicken eggs, but then someone had a brainwave (probably a woman) and realised it could be a good way of bringing more chocolate into our lives! To me, Easter eggs fall into 4 categories: 1)Home-made: It probably came from a betterware catalogue, and it was the bane of my childhood - a do it yourself easter egg mould set. Plastic, you poured cheap melted cooking chocolate into it and it moulded it into the shape of an egg. Good as the real thing, they said, but it wasn't was it? For a start, there was no chocolate in it, no alluring packaging, and the chocolate itself was ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Easter Specials in General: What about Lactose Intolernat people? (271 words)
by - written on 10/07/08 (5 readings)

Easter, a time for chocolate it seems. I like chocolate but I do think that some of these Easter treats need to be looked at and have a few ingredients changed, after becoming good friends with somebody who is lactose intolerant a couple of years ago I have realised that Easter isn't fun for everybody. Lactose Intolerance is basically when a person cannot digest the sugars in lactose. This is because their bodies don't create any lactase which breaks down the lactose. It is actually a very common problem and more people suffer from it than you probably realise it is thought that up to 15% of the U.K suffers. The symptoms can range from just getting a stomach ...  Read the complete review
