Advantages: none

Disadvantages: unhappiness

Everyone blames the media and pictures of thin women for causing eating disorders, that isn't always the case.
I am a overweight person who us trying to lose weight my main problems are
1) I eat when I'm happy
2) I eat when I'm sad
3) I eat when I'm bored
4) I eat when I'm stressed
basically I like food.
I went to the doctor for help now I'm being referred to see a psychiatrist as there must be a reason why I eat.
I don't eat because I see women who are a size 8 it doesn't bother me.
What bothers me is people who don't know me making comments and laughing at me because of what I look like. These people don't know me, what right have the got to judge me. I don't judge them so why do they do it.
They do it because everyone judges people on their appearance; so the cycle begins.
I don't believe I have a eating disorder in the sense I don't make myself sick but I do eat to much.
Life is not a size 8, life is being happy with what you have.
The only problem with life is people who have a problem with size.
The media have a problem with size if they had a problem with colour they wouldn't get away with it.
Picture of slim women doesn't causes Eating Disorders it's the attitudes of people who think if you are not a size 8 you are not worthy of being classed as normal.
Life is for living not for worring what the person next to you is thinking about you
If life was only that simple

You're right - it isn't necessarily the pictures or the media per se, but it is the general attitude that it is desirable to be a size 8 and that being overweight is shameful.

Aww, well, I hope not too many people judge you. And yes, do stay happy, that's the most important thing.

I suffer from anorexia/bulimia and I don't blame the media for it. Just my screwed up mind!! Other peoples comments hurt much more than pictures in a mag. Stay as you are and stay happy!!
