These days my electronic in-box is full of offers for extensions. Be it for my over draught, porn collection or my willy, they just keep coming, only one out of the three stored in my draughts! Ladies need not worry-but my bank manager should. But what I won’t be asked to do over the net-or be participating in-in the near future is vote, the last ... Read the complete review

Ok, now my first initial thought is not to have electronic voting. At least not unless they can increase the security and make it certain that only 1 vote can be cast person. Currently I do not see how this can be done and would feel very insecure in knowing that our future government would be decided on a measure that could be fixed and ... Read the complete review

Was the US election fixed? The exit polls showed the Democrats safely ahead in Ohio, Florida and most other swing states. Where there were paper ballots, the exit results were the same as the official results. Where there were electronic voting machines, the exit polls were different from the official results by ... At both local and general elections in the past, it would not have been unreasonable to have expected a turnout of voters of around 80%. Over the past few years, however, voter turnouts have slumped and at times below half of registered voters actually bother to make a choice as to who they want to be controlling the country they live in. ... The recent debates over Iraq and terrorism and how the government has treated the views of the British on this issue, has opened up a whole new debate about democracy. Throughout the 1990's, as the left moved right and the right moved backwards in British politics, the general public has seemingly become less interested in deciding ... Read the complete review

As it stands, you can send in a postal vote for general elections, if you get organised in good time, so voting electronically via the itnernet or mobile phones is just an addition of new technology and represents no significant change to our democracy as far as I can see. However, I am concerned by the goverment's vision of a antion online. ... Read the complete review

MS-Vote : Coming to a PC near you. Electronic voting is an interesting concept. We live in times were most people in the UK are choosing not to vote in local or general elections and turnouts to vote are their lowest ever. Some politicos call it apathy, others call it satisfaction, but all of them want us to vote more and stay at home ... Read the complete review

Some of you may be tapping in your comments on dooyoo only to find that its duplicated it ten times. Now imagine if that sort of glitch occurred in a general election, deliberate or not. Will there be problems when people back page or refresh when they mess up their vote. Let alone women in general panicking for husbands to bail them out. Some ... Read the complete review

Now as I am sure you all know or at least hope you all know everybody over the age of 18 in this country has the right to vote for their candidates to run their local councils and in turn the party to run the country but who is really making the decisions as to who comes to power?. Now I am 25 years of age and have still not yet voted in ... Read the complete review

The entire notion of electronic voting is ridiculous. There are already too many ways to tamper with voting outcomes. Why would we want to open up the democratic process to even more tampering. Currently, the tampering has to be conducted on a local level so it would take an extreme amount of coordination with alot of people involved to tamper ... Read the complete review

OK, so I`ll point out right at the start that with a subject like this, a person is bound to have to step outside the subject heading from time to time. And I will! Firstly I would have to say that I DO think the idea of voting is a good one. I don`t actually do it any more, but that`s because I think we now kid ourselves about what ... Read the complete review

Voting in person may seem old hat in these e-days, however it's probably the most secure. 1: Each person gets a polling card individual to them (that is, if the post office delivers it). This tells the voter where to vote, what day (usually a Thursday) and between which times (anywhere from 07h00 to 22h00 depending on the election). ... Read the complete review

Ever since I was old enough to be considered worthy of having a vote I have used it without fail. That is of course a personal choice because I'm a firm believer that the right to vote also implies the right not to vote. I do think, however, that everyone who has a vote should choose to use it. Those are, of course, two distinctive ... Read the complete review

Voting online seems like an excellent idea. This way the vast conspiratorial powers will have a much easier time planting their candidates in office without having to deal with ballots, and chads and hanging chads and all that. Plus I will not have to race around all over the countryside to vote in all the districts I registered in. ... Read the complete review
