Okay, let's not get carried away, but...
was that an England side I watched last night??

From the start aainst the Italians, the team tried to pass the ball, even, dare I say, looked comfortable in possession!
So this is Peter Taylor's little play with the side before Eriksson waltzes in and does his thing. Well probably the most accomplished performance since Euro 96 is what I reckon we saw. And it's because players that can do it at club level, were allowed to express themselves.
Take a look at the team on the pic that goes with Dooyou England comments, and spot the difference. With all our over 30's out of it, players can start thinking "maybe this won't be my only chance."
I don't see that side ever playing again exactly, but it points to a promising side which mixes the young players with a few in the Sheringham line of experience and skill.

In Finland, we looked like a past it, pathetic excuse for a side. Surely if the Rio's, Dyers and Heskeys are allowed a good run, England could start excepting some results again...
